Location of Exercise: Milo Community Hall (A.M.); McGregor Lake (P.M.)

OUTCOME GOAL The goal of Coop exercises in lakes is to enable attendees to assist the Operations Chief or designate with the deployment of equipment in an effort to contain and recover the spilled material where boats and specialized equipment are required, or protect sensitive areas. LEARNING OBJECTIVES At the end of the exercise attendees will be able to:

• Recognize a basic ICS structure.

• Describe WCSS’ role in a spill response.

• Carry-out a hazard assessment and identify safety concerns.

• Identify spill reporting requirements.

• Recognize the WCSS Oil Spill Contingency Manual.

• Distinguish the difference between a control point and equipment deployment site.

• Describe the impact that waves and wind can have on a spill response.

• Recognize actions to ready the staging area and equipment for containment and recovery activities prior to a Subject Matter Expert and certified boat operators’ arrival on site.

• Identify the types, locations and process to obtain WCSS spill response equipment.

• Identify a basic equipment deployment strategy.

• Prepare for a basic wildlife spill response.

• Assess equipment and tactics used during the exercise.

• Provide exercise evaluation feedback.
