NCAA Division III AthleticsAt Northern, athletics and academics go hand in hand – excellence is the standard for both. Varsity athletes compete as members of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC). This year, 32 individuals earned Academic All-OAC honors.
Teams: baseball, basketball*, cross country*, football, golf*, indoor and outdoor track and field*, lacrosse*, soccer*, softball, swimming and diving*, tennis*, volleyball, wrestling

Intramural and Club Sports70 percent of ONU students participate in intramural and club sports.
Intramural Sports: flag football, indoor and outdoor soccer, basketball, ultimate frisbee, softball and volleyball
Club Sports: rugby, soccer, ultimate frisbee, fencing, softball, men’s volleyball and lacrosse
ONU also has an 18-hole disc golf course.

Service. Outreach. Engagement.Service, engagement and outreach are an integral part of the
ONU experience. Statistics show that about two-thirds of
ONU’s students were engaged in community service last year.
513 were engaged in academic service learning and 1,882
were engaged in other forms of community service. In total, ONU
students donated 49,722 hours of service.
ONU Recycles
Certified ONU students offer swim lessons to community children.
Habitat for Humanity Typically, while the University is on spring break several groups of ONU students take part in Habitat for Humanity projects.
ONU’s cross country teams collected hundreds of pairs of shoes to donate to area charities.
