Note: Stascal significance test is based off of a 95% confidence level using the binomial test of proporons. The baseline rate (a rate for the enre me period from Q12012 – Q4 2017) is compared to the annual target numerator, denominator, and rate for future data to determine a change that would result in p- value less than 0.05,resulng in stascal significance at a 95% confidence level. In order to normalize and account for any quarterly variaon, the size of the denominator for the target measureis based off of an average quarterly calculaon of the denominators from Q1 2012 through Q4 2017. The calculaon to determine the annual target therefore assumes anaverage size in the denominator for upcoming four quarters of data.

Franklin County Quarterly Control Chart - Preterm Birth (%)CY 2012-2017

What is a control chart? Stascal controlcharts depict variaon in the quarterlytrends of data for a given measure byhelping to idenfy whether data is withinnormal limits and paerns of variaon, orconversely, whether special cause variaonis present. The control charts help toidenfy “out of control” increases, decreases, or trends for a measure in agiven me period. The mean rate iscalculated for the overall me period and isrepresented in black. The quarterly rate isdisplayed in green. Finally, two and threestandard deviaons above and below themean rate are included as upper and lowerbounds which adjust according to the size ofthe quarterly denominators.

Note: Two and three standard deviaonswere set to zero if the values were less thanzero (i.e., a negave value).

Data are limited to Medicaid as the payer.

Annual Target for Real Impact*

From 84 to 69 Deaths

From 79 to 64 Deaths

From 55 to 43 Deaths

Note: Stascal significance test is based off of a 95% confidence level using the binomial test of proporons. The baseline rate (a rate for the enre me period from Q12012 – Q3 2016) is compared to the annual target numerator, denominator, and rate for future data to determine a change that would result in p- value less than 0.05,resulng in stascal significance at a 95% confidence level. In order to normalize and account for any quarterly variaon, the size of the denominator for the target measureis based off of an average quarterly calculaon of the denominators from Q1 2012 through Q3 2016. The calculaon to determine the annual target therefore assumes anaverage size in the denominator for upcoming four quarters of data.

From 84 to 69 Deaths

From 80 to 65 Deaths

From 57 to 45 Deaths

Note: Stascal significance test is based off of a 95% confidence level using the binomial test of proporons. The baseline rate (a rate for the enre me period from Q22012 – Q4 2017) is compared to the annual target numerator, denominator, and rate for future data to determine a change that would result in p- value less than 0.05,resulng in stascal significance at a 95% confidence level. In order to normalize and account for any quarterly variaon, the size of the denominator for the target measureis based off of an average quarterly calculaon of the denominators from Q2 2012 through Q4 2017. The calculaon to determine the annual target therefore assumes anaverage size in the denominator for upcoming four quarters of data.

Franklin County Quarterly Control Chart - Progesterone Use in High Risk Women (%)CY 2012-2017

Note: Stascal significance test is based off of a 95% confidence level using the binomial test of proporons. The baseline rate (a rate for the enre me period from Q12015 – Q4 2017) is compared to the annual target numerator, denominator, and rate for future data to determine a change that would result in p- value less than 0.05,resulng in stascal significance at a 95% confidence level. In order to normalize and account for any quarterly variaon, the size of the denominator for the target measureis based off of an average quarterly calculaon of the denominators from Q1 2015 through Q4 2017. The calculaon to determine the annual target therefore assumes anaverage size in the denominator for upcoming four quarters of data.

Annual Target for Real Impact*

From 14275 to 14419 Women

From 11257 to 11393 Women

From 8103 to 8215 Women
