Oh I do like to be beside the seaside! – Summer Term 2nd Half

This is our homework pack for this half term. I have outlined a number of different homework activities to choose from. Each activity relates to our topic all about the seaside. Some of the activities are designed to be completed at home and do not need to be returned to school. Please encourage your child to choose one to complete each week and bring it to school on Friday if appropriate. Remember that they do not have to complete all of the activities. Reading, spellings and maths homework will continue to run along side this homework.

Design a sandcastle. Draw your design and label it. What shape will it be? Will it have a moat? Will it have flags, windows or doors?

Make up your own homework about the seaside.

Visit the library or use the internet to research what seaside holidays were like in Britain in the past.

Talking Activity Talk to someone about their experiences of going on holiday to the seaside. Where did they go? How did they get there?

Draw or paint your own seaside picture.

Write a list of things that you would pack if you were going on a holiday to the seaside. Try to use adjectives to describe your things.

Write your own story with a seaside setting. Remember that it should have a beginning, middle and an end.

Write 2 facts about what seaside holidays were like in the past and 2 facts about what they are like today.
