Two Singaporeans were killed in a car accident in Malaysia this morning,according to a report by the Star online.

The duo lost control of their Porsche 911 Turbo, which crashed into the roaddivider of the KL-Seremban Expressway in Desa Petaling.

A board of inquiry has been set up by the Singapore Exchange (SGX) toinvestigate the power outage which caused the trading halt in securities andderivatives on Wednesday afternoon (Nov 5).

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Tharman Shanmugaratnam saidthis on the sidelines of a free health screening event in Jurong on Sunday (9Nov).

Mr Tharman said SGX has appointed independent experts to look into severalmatters.

These include power supply and recovery processes.

He said the incident "does not help" Singapore's reputation as a financial hub,even though similar incidents have occurred in financial centres overseas.

"It doesn't matter what happens overseas. We got to get it right here," hesaid.

Mr Tharman was speaking after touring the Community Health Day at SATACommHealth Jurong East Medical Centre.

Jurong residents above 50 years old received free glaucoma and osteoporosischecks this morning.

This is the twelfth time that Community Health Day has been held inSingapore.
