It gives me immense pleasure to present La Voice KMC’s newsletter . I am hopeful that La Voice will be a great platform for the college societies and departments to showcase the various activities that they carry out throughout the year . I am also happy to announce that La voice is eco– friendly in nature, given the fact that it is an e-based newsletter . I congratulate the entire La Voice team for their hard work and dedication that has resulted in the publication of this e-newsletter .

My best wishes are with team La Voice!!

It gives me immense pleasure to present to you La Voice, KMC’s own Newsletter! The pressing need for creation of the newsletter was felt keeping in mind the vibrancy of the KM campus. With 19 departments and 37 societies working simultaneously, the activities happening on campus are numerous. The Newsletter aims at keeping the student and faculty community updated about the activities being undertaken by the departments and societies which are often difficult to keep a track of, given the large number of departments & societies that the college has. The activities of the college have been classified under diverse themes like cultural, sensitizing, achievement of the month amongst others. La Voice is a single window platform where one can not only stay updated about the events happening on campus but through our “UPCOMING EVENTS” section we also keep the students updated about the upcoming events of the month. These include student-centric events such as talks, seminar, workshops, and inter/intra college competitions. I firmly believe that staying updated about the various opportunities that the college provides, through its departmental and societal activities, to the student community will greatly benefit our students.

In the Fourth edition of the newsletter we have tried to cover the activities on campus under the themes of culture, sports, achievement of the month, student’s corner emherald and teacher’s corner. We believe that each of these sections contribute immensely in portraying the true dynamism of KM college. Not only does the college offer its students educational exposure in the form of talks, seminars, workshops, and trips but also contribute to the holistic personality development of the student. The students are exposed to various inter/intra college competitions. The newsletter will help student better acquaint themselves with the college societies and help them pursue their true talent.

La Politique Shares Knowledge about UN On the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations, La Politique, the Political Science Department of Kirori Mal College, began a new journey towards academic exploration. On 24 October 2017, La Politique, inaugurated a flagship annual event to commemorate the UN day where the functioning of the United Nations was analyzed . The event was hosted in the form of two competitions, Group Discussion and Writing Competition. The Group Discussion had two sessions on two different UN-related topics, which were held both in English and Hindi. The first session was on India's position in the UNSC, where the students aggressively stressed that India needs to make a move and claim a permanent role in the Security Council. The second theme was whether "democracy within the United Nations is just a facade". While many students agreed to the statement, some students reiterated the role that UN has played in promotion of democracy and empowerment of the underprivileged, claiming that the statement was wrong and unfair. The writing competition saw many expressive pieces of intellectual overview on the "Declining Role of UN in the contemporary world". KMC witnessed many bud-ding intellectuals, orators and writers, who not only were strongly opinionated, but also were aware and tolerant to opposing views. La Politique, the Political science Department of KMC, feels honored to have hosted such an event, where politics was brought down to the table of rising thinkers.
