Object of RotaryThe Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

A Brief History of RotaryPaul P. Harris organized the first Rotary club in Chicago, Illinois, USA, on 23 February 1905. Seeking fellowship and professional camaraderie, Harris, a young lawyer, invited a group of men, each engaged in a different vocation, to form this new club. That basis for membership one person from each business and profession in the community still exists in Rotary. The name came from the original practice of rotating meetings among members places of business.

Today, more than 1.2 million people call themselves Rotarians. The ideal of Service Above Self is shared by 35,000 Rotary clubs in nearly every country.

How to Use This Directory

The complete online Official Directory consists of four sections:1. General officers, committees, past RI officers, and general information2. A club/city index to assist you in locating Rotary clubs3. A district section listing pertinent information of Rotary clubs4. A Rotary emblem merchandise/vendor section

Because this directory contains a wealth of information, it will be useful if you become familiar with the table of contents and read the explanatory notes at the beginning of each section. The second and third sections of this directory are of special importance to traveling Rotarians. The Rotary emblem merchandise section lists firms licensed by RI to manufacture and sell items bearing the Rotary emblem. Alongside the directory, tab markings have been included to guide you to the club/city index and district section.

How to Use the Club & District SectionThis directory is often used by Rotarians who are traveling and want to attend a Rotary club meeting. It is assumed that Rotarians know which city they are visiting but may not know the names of Rotary clubs in that city. The Official Directory provides easy access to that information. The Club/City Index is an alphabetical listing of Rotary clubs. The district section is a numerical listing of districts with their respective clubs and pertinent information (e.g., club officers, meeting time, location). For example, you are traveling to Sydney, Australia, and want to find a Rotary club there that meets on a Tuesday or Wednesday:

1. Look up Sydney in the Club/City Index. There you will find the listing Sydney, N.S.W., Australia (D-9750): Sydney is the name of the club, N.S.W. is the abbreviation for the state New South Wales, and Australia is the country. D-9750 indicates that the club is part of District 9750.

2. Turn to the district section and find the heading District 9750. Once there, you will see an alphabetical listing of all of the Rotary clubs within District 9750, including those in Sydney.

3. Scan the Sydney club listings to find a club that meets on the desired day.

A contact phone number, which may belong to a Rotary club, president, or secretary, may be found at the end of a secretarys address. Please note that this number is provided for your information only and is not to be used in any way for solicitation.

ZUR VERWENDUNG DES ABSCHNITTES ZU CLUBS UND DISTRIKTEN

Dieses Verzeichnis wird oft von Rotariern auf Reisen genutzt, die ein Clubmeeting besuchen mchten. Oft wissen Rotarier im Voraus, welchen Ort sie besuchen, doch wissen sie nicht, welche Clubs sich am Ort befinden. Das Official Directory enthlt diese Informationen. Der Clubindex bietet eine alphabetische Liste von Rotary Clubs. Der Distriktabschnitt ist eine numerische Auflistung aller Distrikte mit ihren jeweiligen Clubs und Kontaktinfos (Amtstrger, Treffpunkt zeiten etc.). Wenn Sie also zum Beispiel in Honolulu (Hawaii) sind, schauen Sie zuerst im Clubindex unter Honolulu nach. Hier finden Sie den Clubnamen und das Land angegeben, sowie die Distriktnummer. Ein nchster Schritt wre nun, im Distriktabschnitt den Distrikt (5000) aufzusuchen, um dort alle Clubs des Distriktes alphabetisch aufgefhrt zu sehen.

Sie finden ggf. eine Telefonnummer entweder des Clubs, des Prsidenten oder Clubsekretrs als Kontaktinformation am Ende der Adresse. Es versteht sich, dass diese Informationen vertraulich zu behandeln sind.

Las secciones segunda y tercera son de especial importancia para los rotarios que viajan a otras localidades. En la cuarta y ltima seccin aparece una lista de compaas autorizadas para fabricar o vender artculos con el emblema de Rotary. En el canto del directorio se sealan las secciones correspondientes al ndice de clubes/ciudades y al de distritos.

CMO UTILIZAR LA SECCIN DE CLUBES Y DISTRITOS Este directorio es especialmente til para los rotarios que viajan y desean asistir a reuniones de clubes rotarios en las ciudades que visitan, pero desconocen los nombres de los clubes rotarios que funcionan en las mismas. El Directorio Oficial proporciona fcil acceso a dicha informacin. El ndice de clubes/ciudades es una lista por orden alfabtico de clubes rotarios. La seccin sobre distritos contiene una lista por orden numrico de distritos con sus respectivos clubes e informacin pertinente (funcionarios del club; lugar, da y hora de reunin). Por ejemplo: supongamos que un rotario viaja a Sydney, Australia, y desea averiguar si hay un club rotario en dicha ciudad que se rene los martes o mircoles:

1. Primero, deber consultar la pgina correspondiente al ndice de clubes/ciudades y buscar Sydney, Australia. En dicho ndice encontrar: Sydney, N.S.W., Australia (D-9750): Sydney es el nombre del club, N.S.W. es la abreviatura del estado de New South Wales (Nueva Gales del Sur), y Australia es el pas. D-9750 representa el nmero del distrito donde est ubicado el Club Rotario de Sydney.

2. Seguidamente, el rotario ha de pasar a la pgina correspondiente a la seccin sobre distritos y buscar el encabezamiento District 9750. All encontrar una lista, ordenada alfabticamente, de todos los clubes rotarios comprendidos dentro del Distrito 9750, incluidos los que funcionan en Sydney.

3. Busque, entre la lista de clubes rotarios que funcionan en Sydney, el club que se rene martes o mircoles.

Algunas veces aparece un nmero telefnico a continuacin de la direccin del secretario del club. Este nmero posiblemente corresponda al club rotario, al presidente o al secretario y se proporciona exclusivamente para su informacin; no debe utilizarse para ningn tipo de solicitacin.

Cet annuaire contient de nombreuses informations utiles et il est conseill aux utilisateurs de se familiariser avec sa table des matires. Les deuxime et troisime parties sont particulirement importantes pour les Rotariens en dplacement. Lannuaire des fournisseurs agrs du Rotary figurant la fin de lannuaire rpertorie les socits autorises fabriquer et commercialiser les marchandises sur lesquelles figure lemblme du Rotary. Pour faciliter votre recherche dans le rpertoire des districts, les numros de ces derniers sont indiqus dans un encadr en haut droite.

COMMENT UTILISER LINDEX DES CLUBS ET LE RPERTOIRE DES DISTRICTS

Cet annuaire est souvent utilis par les Rotariens la recherche dinformations pour assister durant un dplacement une runion de club. Dans lindex des clubs, les clubs sont rpertoris par ordre alphabtique. Le rpertoire des districts utilise quant lui un classement numrique. chaque district est associe une liste de ses clubs et des informations pertinentes les concernant (nom des responsables, lieux et horaires des runions). Si par exemple vous vous rendez Sydney en Australie et vous dsirez assister une runion dun Rotary club local un mardi ou un mercredi :

1. Recherchez Sydney dans le Club/city Index. Vous trouverez Sydney (nom du club), N.S.W. (nom de ltat : New South Wales), Australie (nom du pays) et D-9750 (numro de district du club).

2. Reportez-vous dans le rpertoire des districts au district 9750 o sont rpertoris tous les clubs de ce district.

3. Parmi les diffrents clubs de Sydney, choisir celui dont les horaires de runion sont compatibles avec votre emploi du temps.

Un numro de tlphone pouvant tre celui du club, de son prsident ou de son secrtaire peut apparatre la fin des informations fournies pour chaque club. Cette information ne saurait en aucun cas tre utilise des fins de dmarchage commercial.

COME USARE IL DOCUMENTO

Lannuario contiene quattro sezioni:1. Una sezione preliminare che contiene lindice, i dirigenti, le commissioni, i past

dirigenti del RI e le informazioni generali;2. Un indice di club/citt per ubicare i Rotary club;3. Una sezione distrettuale con informazioni sui Rotary club;4. Una sezione su merci/rivenditori dellemblema del Rotary.

A causa di tutte le informazioni contenute nel presente annuario, si consiglia di leggere attentamente lindice e le note allinizio di ogni sezione. La seconda e terza sezione sono particolarmente importanti per i Rotariani che si trovano in viaggio. La sezione sulle merci con lemblema del Rotary elenca le aziende con l'autorizzazione da parte del RI per produrre e vendere articoli con lemblema del Rotary. Insieme alla Directory, sono stati aggiunti dei contrassegni per guidare gli utenti nellindice di club/citt e nella sezione sul distretto.

COME UTILIZZARE LA SEZIONE CLUB E DISTRETTI

Il presente annuario viene spesso usato da Rotariani che si trovano in viaggio e desiderano partecipare a una riunione di un Rotary club. Il Rotariano potrebbe non essere a conoscenza dei nomi dei club locali. Lannuario offre un facile accesso a tali informazioni. Lindice dei club/citt un indice alfabetico dei Rotary club. La sezione distretti un elenco numerico di distretti con i loro club e le relative informazioni (dirigenti del club, orario/orari di riunione del club, ubicazione). Esempio, un Rotariano si reca a Sydney, in Australia, e desidera trovare un Rotary club che si incontra di marted o mercoled:

1. Il primo passo di cercare Sydney nellindice club/citt, dove si trova Sydney, N.S.W., Australia (D-9750): Sydney il nome del club, N.S.W. labbreviazione per lo Stato di New South Wales, e Australia il Paese. D-9750 il numero di distretto di cui fa parte il club.

3. Scorrendo lelenco dei club di Sydney si pu trovare un club che si riunisce il giorno desiderato.

COMO USAR A SEO DE CLUBES E DISTRITOS

Os rotarianos que, durante suas viagens, desejam participar de uma reunio de Rotary Club podem utilizar este diretrio para obter informaes acerca dos clubes na cidade que visitaro. O ndice dos clubes/cidades est em ordem alfabtica. A seo sobre os distritos contm uma lista em ordem numrica de distritos com os nomes de seus clubes, horrio e local das reunies e outras informaes pertinentes. Por exemplo, um rotariano ir viajar para Sydney, na Austrlia, e quer localizar um clube que se rene s teras-feiras ou quartas-feiras:

1. Primeiramente, dever procurar Sydney no ndice de clubes/cidades. Nele encontrar Sydney, N.S.W., Australia (D-9750): Sydney o nome do clube, N.S.W. abreviatura do estado New South Wales e Australia o pas. D-9750 indica que o clube faz parte do Distrito 9750.

2. Em seguida, o rotariano dever passar pgina correspondente seo sobre os distritos e localizar o Distrito 9750. Ali encontrar uma lista de ordem alfabtica de todos os Rotary Clubs daquele distrito, inclusive os clubes de Sydney.

3. Poder ento localizar um clube na cidade que se rene s teras-feiras ou quartas-feiras.
