Joyce Williams took a trophy at the Del Webb Car Show. Roger, what happened to the “Stinkin
Lincoln?”
Jan and Don Wigle reported that Birds on the Wharf in Santa Cruz was a great event and there

It seems like the end of the year is already on us, and looking back it seems like this has been a pretty good year for the club. The lunch meetings have all gone well thanks to those who stepped up to make arrangements and host. I'm par-ticularly grateful to Katrina, Ruben, Ken and Roberta for going to all the work needed to have a successful meeting at the VanDyke cabin. It's much more work to have a meeting at a private residence, but I appreciate the effort as it leads to a more relaxed, enjoyable meeting where time isn't a major issue and visiting can go on. I believe we have a at least one meeting scheduled at a residence next year, with plenty of room on the calendar for more. We had only one overnight tour this year, but Joe and Sandy did a good job putting it together and the club participa-tion was exceptional. The potluck style dinner in the hotel lobby was entertaining if a little crowded. Here's looking forward to next year and maybe having a couple of tours. QC was good, though I'm sure we'll do as well or better in a couple of years. With the QC, the Hood's overnight, and “Thunderbirds on the Wharf,” we ended up taking our 'Bird to the Monterey Bay area three times this year and are looking forward to more in the future. The participation in local car shows was rewarding for members who managed to win awards. The award-winning cars might not be truly representative of our club, but it's still a pleasure when friends get rewarded for their work. I'm looking forward to seeing more winning next year. Other than the Christmas party, there is one thing I'd like to remind everyone of, on November 18, Sequoia Classic Thunderbird Club is visiting Duarte Nursery in Hughson. Since they're coming to our area, it would be nice if we had a nice turnout to greet them, and I'm sure everyone will have a good time seeing our old friends from Kings and Tulare counties. I'm looking forward to seeing everybody at the Ripon Roadhouse on the 12th for our lunch meeting hosted by Roger
and Joyce Williams. Don Wigle
