A thriving incubator spaceLike all Oxford Innovation centres, The Nucleus is very customer focused, providing new and next-step companies with a sustainably priced, bespoke product. But it goes far beyond that by also offering support and advice to help your business achieve its strategic goals. And this help is available to you at no charge.

The centre is served by a Regional Director whose role is to facilitate your company’s growth, help overcome potential barriers, and exploit potential opportunities by assisting with issues such as:

This support is delivered using a range of tools, including:

And because start-up businesses often need external fi nance and investment to help them scale up their operation, The Nucleus offers access to specialists who can help you identify the type of funding you need and work out how to secure it, for example through:

• Inward investment, working closely with Locate in Kent, UKTI and other organisations to assist overseas investment into Kent

• The UK Funders database (1,700 potential investors in the UK)

• Oxford Innovation Services Angel Networks – business investment networks that play a vital role in connecting fl edgling companies with experienced investors. Over the last three years, more than 50 companies have raised over £7m directly from our Angel Investors as part of total funding raise of £40m.

Whether you’re ‘fl ying solo’ and just need an offi ce for one or have a team of 20+, our choice of individual furnished or unfurnished offi ces will offer something to match your requirements. From 132 sq ft to 2,000 sq ft of offi ce space, The Nucleus accommodates micro-businesses and enterprises with anything from 1 to 25 employees. The building is climate-controlled and has high speed broadband and telephone access.

You get more than just your immediate workspace too. There’s a central reception in which to meet and greet your guests, an on site café, and also a communal kitchen on each fl oor in which to catch up with colleagues and fellow entrepreneurs over a coffee. Other benefi ts include 24/7 access, CCTV security, and free on-site parking.

Supportive servicesWe can relieve you of many of the administrative burdens of running a business, for example with our phone answering service (the phone is answered in your company’s name) and mail handling. Other broader business support includes networking events – such as the ‘Out of hours networking club’ run in partnership with Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce – information sessions, and partner events.

Flexible termsAll this is available in a package that is tailored to your precise needs. For example, if you’re not sure what the future holds for your business you may wish to have the complete fl exibility of a short term licence (available for as little as one month). Alternatively, if your business is a little more established, it may suit you to take a 12 month lease, and benefi t from the security of knowing your costs – and location – are fi xed for the year.
