Aug. 5-6 - Feast of the Transfiguration of the LordOn the threshold of the public life: the baptism; on the threshold of the Passover: The Transfiguration. Jesus’ baptism proclaimed the mystery of the first regeneration, namely, our Baptism; the Transfiguration is the sacrament of the second regeneration: our own Resurrection. From now on we share in the Lord’s Resurrection through the Spirit who acts in the sacraments of the Body of Christ. The Transfiguration not only gives us a foretaste of Christ’s glorious coming, when he will change our lowly body to be like his glorious body, but also recalls that it is through many persecutions that we will enter the kingdom of God” (CCC, 556). Without the eyes of our heart focused on the light manifest through the Gospel, while we may physically rise, we could slumber in action. Christ helps us to rise and to not be afraid. The transformative power of Christ helps to steady us on the path to everlasting life, in spite of the challenging difficulties that may be encountered in relationships, work, and society.

El bautizo de Jesús proclamó el misterio de la primera regeneración, es decir, nuestro Bautismo; la Transfiguración es el sacramento de la segunda regeneración: nuestra propia Resurrección. Desde ahora compartimos en la Resurrección del Señor a través del Espíritu que actúa en los sacramentos del Cuerpo de Cristo. “La Transfiguración no solo nos da una probada de la gloriosa venida de Cristo, cuando Él cambiará nuestro humilde cuerpo para que sea como su cuerpo glorioso, pero también recuerda que es a través de muchas persecuciones que entraremos al Reino de Dios” (CCC, 556). Sin los ojos de nuestro corazón enfocados en la luz manifestada a través del Evangelio, aunque podamos levantarnos físicamente, sucumbiremos en la acción. Cristo nos ayuda a levantarnos y a no tener miedo. El poder transformador de Cristo nos ayuda a mantenernos firmes en el camino de la vida eterna, a pesar de las retadoras dificultades que puede que encontremos en las relaciones, en el trabajo y en la sociedad.

Dear parishioners,
Daily Mass is a great gift in the Church. At Mass, our Savior descends upon the Altar and the sacrifice of Calvary is renewed. It is a wonderful feeling for us to go about our day having witnessed this great act. For this reason, Daily Mass in the morning is especially beneficial for the increase of our faith. Once we have attended Mass, the day that follows may be considered hallowed.
A new Daily Mass schedule is in place to begin on Monday, August 7. From Monday to Thursday, Mass will be celebrated at 7:00 a.m. in the Chapel and on Friday, at 8:00 a.m. in the Church.
Let us consider arranging our personal schedule so that we may participate in Daily Mass and sanctify the day. Also, let us pray that more Catholic faithful will daily receive this great gift in the Church.
O sweetest Jesus, you came into the world to give all souls the life of your grace and in order to preserve and nourish it in them, have given to us a daily cure for our infirmities and nourishment for our souls. We humbly ask you, by your Sacred Heart aflame with love for us, to pour forth your divine Spirit so that we may draw near daily to the Holy Mass to receive the antidote for our sins and foster within us the life of grace. So being ever more and more purified, we may come at last to the possession of eternal life, which is happiness with you. Amen.

Queridos Feligreses,
Es un gran regalo tener Misa diaria en la Iglesia. En la Misa, nuestro Salvador desciende sobre el Altar y se renueva el sacrificio del Calvario. Es una sensación maravillosa para nosotros el haber presenciado este gran acto, al empezar nuestro día. Por este motivo, la Misa diaria en la mañana es especialmente beneficiosa para agrandar nuestra fe. Una vez que hayamos asistido a Misa, se puede considerar el día como santificado.
Un nuevo horario de Misas diarias comenzara el lunes, 7 de agosto. Del lunes al jueves, la Misa se celebrará a las 7:00 a.m. en la Capilla y el viernes, a las 8:00 a.m. en la Iglesia.
Pensemos en organizar nuestro horario personal para que podamos participar en Misa diariamente y santificar el día. También, oremos para que más fieles católicos reciban a diario este gran don en la Iglesia.
Oh dulce Jesús, viniste al mundo para dar la vida de tu gracia a todas las almas con el fin de preservarla y alimentarla en ellos, has dado un alivio diario a nuestras debilidades y alimento a nuestras almas. Humildemente te pedimos, por tu Sagrado Corazón ardiente con amor por nosotros, derramar tu Espíritu divino para que podamos acercarnos diariamente a la Santa Misa y recibir el antídoto para nuestros pecados y fomentar en nosotros la vida de la gracia. Y así, llegando a estar cada vez más purificados, obtengamos por fin la posesión de la vida eterna, que es la felicidad contigo. Amén.

This year’s RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) Program begins on Thursday, September 7. There’s no cost, no obligation, no commitment necessary. In a series of friendly, informative and spiritually exciting classes we will explore the major things Catholics believe and why. We will learn more about the Mass and what is happening and why. Learn about prayer, scripture, sacraments and Church history, and much more.
Are you Catholic and interested in learning more about your faith? Would you be willing to be part of this program to be part of a faith community willing to journey with and support those interested in learning more about our faith? Curso de Biblia:El Ministerio de Evangelización les invita a un curso de Biblia enfocado en la vida de Moisés y el servicio a Dios. Un hombre que no se sentía capacitado, pero Dios mostro su gloria a través de el para liberar a su pueblo de la esclavitud.
