It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Carleton and the Sprott School of Business. Your university years are a time of tremendous growth and development. Although it may seem long to you now, your time at university is short; however, the knowledge and experiences you gain during these years will have lasting effects on your life and your career. I encourage you to take advantage of the numerous opportunities to develop your interests and skills, both in and outside the classroom. Take part in student clubs, co-op and career development activities, international exchanges, interuniversity case competitions, entrepreneurial initiatives and more! You’ll gain value-added experiences and new skills that will help you stand out to employers, not to mention a network of professional contacts and lifelong friendships.
