Three Talks—At 11 am, 2 pm, and 5:30 pm
Young Adult Fiction author Heather Brewer arrives at the Poplar
Bluff Municipal Library on March 25, 2014! The upcoming visit is
mentioned on her website www.heatherbrewer.com She is
the author of many YA books in the supernatural genre including
The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod, The Slayer Chronicles, and The
Legacy of Tril series.
“I’ve always been drawn to darker things. I think that comes
from me being an outcast growing up...I was the least popular
person...picked on daily, so I was an outcast. When I look for
things to read, I look for outcast characters. I think that’s some-
thing my readers look for as well,” the author says in a YouTube
video featured on her website. “Supernatural books are more
popular today because people are looking for escapism… looking for
elements that might not necessarily be real, but could be...dealing with
someone else’s problems. And if those problems happen to involve fangs and blood, so be it.”
“Auntie Heather” is always happy to pose for photographs with her “minions” after the talk and book-
signings are over. She will sign copies of her books that you may already own, as well as new ones.
