change in the status of the case of the storage of heavy equiPmBnt

at Rt. 72 and Sutton Read. As far as the so-called Roahe property

is concerned, the present owners of that property are petitioning

the court for re~zoning and the case will be heard June 4th. The

Village Attorney has not been instructed to appear for Barrington

Hills. The Countryside Association wishes to continue action in the

suit. The Trustees must decide whether or not it is their wish

that Mr. Truninger appear for the village. After discussion, the

Board authorized Mr. Truninger to discuss the case with Mr. Gross~

handler, Assistant States Attorny, who is handling the case for

Lake County. Mr. Truninger is then to use his judgement as to

what action he should take in the best interests of Barrington Hills.

Mr. Hayward, Chairman of the Health Committee, had no report.

The President advised that a Dr. Sheraton has purchased the

Brooks property on Algonquin Road and that he would like permission

to use it as a riding stable subject to regulation by Barrington

Hills. He would agree to rent horses only to Barrington and to

Barrington Hills residents. He would also board horses. After dis-

cussion, the Trustees asked the President to discuss this matter

with Mr. Douglas Thompson, President of the Barrington Hills Riding

Club, to see whether or not there would be a possibility of this

proposed riding stable being under the auspices and control of thel

Barrington Hills Riding; Club. If this can be arranged, the Trustees

felt formal permission for such an establishment should be requested.

The Chair read a letter he had received from Mr. Foster Rachel,

65 Otis Road, protesting illegal fishing on the lakes, and protesting

the presence of stray dogs. The Chair had written in answer that

the fishing is on private property over which the village has

no

automatic policecontrol, and that the village hes no ordinance

against stray dogs. The Trustees asked Mr. Delmar Olson

to

contact Mr. Rechel end explain the village's position in these matters.

With the arrival of the Treasurer, his report was uiscussed

in more detail. The Board voted unanihously to approve the

Treasurer's report, copy of which is attached to and made a pert

of these minutes-
