A FRESH LOOK AT
Design + Branding + Strategy CREATIVE LUNACY
As a Los Angeles based commercial photographer, one of my passions is street photography. I love to examine and capture images of lifestyles from Los Angeles Chinatown, to Hollywood, Skid Row to South Central LA.
As I travel the streets of LA, I see some of the most amazing visual stories. OES provides assignments that allow me to capture strong editorial imagery that supports ongoing branding and marketing activities.
The OES images feature students from all facets of the OES campus, workers, events, specialty focus areas, a collection of random educational moments. Per the direction of the marketing department, I was allowed to roam free on campus, with a guide, to build a visual glossary of people, places, textures, expressions, ethnicities, and passions.
The next few pages reflect a snippet of how the imagery has been used since 2010.

FAV PICS:
One of he most interesting things about capturing images of children is that whether they are engrossed in an activity or looking directly at the camera ... they are honest about it. No pretense. No fake emotions.
Little Mr. Wide Eyes is one of my favorite pics from OES shoots. He whispered, “you’re a Black photographer,” from behind the milk glass. It was a wonderful moment. His genuine fear was abated by simply facing me and defining the big 6 ft guy pointing a huge camera at him.
The rest of the week, each time we saw each other, he smiled. He may or may not remember me, but I’ll never forget him.
PACKAGING
CD Cover featuring a collection of my favorite images from OES shoots.
Over time, we made selects from the thousands of images captured. This cover is an amalgam of OES school levels, interests and endeavors.
THE SMILES
In the midst of her extremely busy daily schedule, the head chef put together two cuisine offerings at OES . . . mmmmmmm.
I had 10 minutes to get in, shoot multiple angles and get out before her lunch crowd.
An assistant actually held my light with an umbrella diffuser as we navigated around ongoing kitchen activity.
It was fun.

HOMECOMING MAILER:
The 2011 homecoming festivities were one of the best attended . . . ever.
Natural light in a classroom provided a magical environment to capture this moment.

LS/MS DUAL ADS:
For the Upcoming Events campaign, we configured similar content into about a dozen ads for multiple publications. Combining that info for two different targets audiences turned out to be a WIN-WIN.
LS OPEN HOUSE POST CARD:
A Lower School specific post card featuring more of the images from OES shoots.
Admissions was VERY pleased with the turnout to their Open House.

GOLF ANYONE?:
Mailers are always a challenge to configure, but once the content flows on all of the panels, it can be a thing of beauty. This self-mailer contributed to one of the most attended golf outings in OES history.
I took the initiative to design an event logo that proved to be the hallmark of the campaign.

US EVENT MESSAGING:
Once we established the primary design nomenclature of fonts, colors, images, graphic shapes, designing content for various events is easy.
Attendance for the Open House and Infomation Nights were terrific! Biggest turnout in decades.
NEW HEAD OF SCHOOL
I was very honored to be selected for this prestigious assignment. We went through a series of designs and settled on a fun non-traditional approach., even though the OES team had just come off of a major national search.
I love the headline too.
