Our vision is to position UCF as a center of excellence that is nationally recognized as a higher education model for its practices, policies, and attitudes in the area of domestic diversity.

This group compiled activities for students, faculty, and staff at UCF and the surrounding area, and for the staff in the work place, that are age-appropriate in order to raise awareness of bullying and help the classroom and or workplace environment to become an inclusive place. The guide centers on activities that will prevent bullying by educating people, building a sense of community, teaching rules and guidelines to follow, showing how to model good behavior, and explaining how to deal with bullying the workplace. It addresses ways to prevent bullying, rather than merely dealing with its effects.

The History of Hate consisted of several modules focusing on specific groups: Native Americans, African Americans, and women. Each begins with breaking the ice and get attendees talking. The facilitator provides foundational information and scaffolding for the rest of the workshop. The goal is to inspire thought about the nature and consequences of hate. Activities, videos, and discussions are included to elaborate on certain events in history and further participant knowledge on each subject.

The Belief Systems group will be designing a series of workshops to help spread information and dispel misconceptions in regards to various religions, helping people to understand where those of different religions come from, and separate what society has made them believe from the reality of the situation. For each belief system the group created a pamphlet, facilitator’s guide, and PowerPoint. The beliefs systems covered were chosen in hopes of providing new insight into some of the more popular religions, as well as shedding light on some of the lesser known belief systems.

The mission of the Office of Diversity Initiatives is to assist the University of Central Florida in reaching its strategic goal to "Become More Inclusive and Diverse" by facilitating diversity processes, programs, and policies that promote social justice, enhance cultural competencies, and develop capacious leaders. Our students, colleagues, and constituents represent diverse peoples and perspectives across multiple generations.
