Preface

I don't know how people become a writer. To be honest, I don't even know

what particular things "Ode" must possess. I just know the dictionary meaning of

the word "Ode" -a poem expressing the writer's thoughts and feelings about a

particular person or subject, usually written to that person or subject. In that

sense, these words were written to someone, so I named them "Ode". I am not

so well-versed and excelled in sophisticated English. Just dared to let her know

what I feel, and of course in my way.

Dedication

Dedicated to the One…

Who falls asleep silent as the dew drops of dawn,

Who wakes up gently as the morning's warm sun,

Who walks motionless towards the basin,

Who there spends few minutes for brushin'.

Who then goes to kitchen and fire on the stove,

Who makes few toasts and the coffee she love',

Who then wakes her mom up knocking at the door

Who hands over her bed tea prepared before.

Who then goes to her lil sis who's still sleeping,

Who gets her ready before the school bell ring'

Who then gets herself ready for 8:45 bus,

Who doesn't want to miss boring professor's class.

Who prefers going library to going canteen,

Who there stays till it one and thirteen.

Who catches her bus in that usual crowd,

Who if grabs a seat feel proud.

Who texts on the bus or plugs in headphone,

Who gets down when comes her little town…


Ode to Cupid

Under the full moon at midnight,

Praying for the One whose soul's much bright.

Praying for the One in this silent surrounding,

Praying for her every little thing.

Praying under this moonbeams and silence everywhere,

May God bless on her like a lukewarm shower.

Praying for the One who shows me the light,

When I get scared who holds me so tight.

Who lifted me up when my throat was on the ground,

Praying for the One who stepped up when no one's around.

Praying for the One who can listen to my silence,

Praying for the One who renders peace even in violence.

Praying for the One who wiped out my tears,

Praying for the One who dragged me out of fears.

Praying for the One who shared my pain,

Who washed my sorrows away like the late autumn's rain.

Praying for the one who believed in me,

Who brought out my new possibility.

Praying for Her, here in the silent crowd,

Praying to the Almighty! Praying aloud!

May God engrave my name on the soul of Thine,

And make me Her life long, Last Valentine!!


Ode to Fear

I can't think someday you'll forget me

You'll forget each and every memory.

You'll be on this earth, forgetting me

You'll be walking through your flourish balcony.

You'll stand before a mirror,

You'll be rolling your hair,

A fair rained forest, you'll be walking through,

Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Flicker would be on your grasp though.

You'll be flowering the garden, forgetting me

While I can't spare a moment, thinking of thee!

I really can't think of the time, you'll forget me.

When'er I think you can forget me, like you've forgotten an age old novel you've

read in teen!

I go insane, I feel like a dark dressed monster is running towards me.

My scream dissolves in the air!

And becomes silent like a traveler’s howling fade away in between nowhere.

I don't care, don't fear, the rest world!

I just want you by my side

Forgetting all the words that hurt you wide.

I want you to be my Girl again

I want you back, like the last autumn's rain!

I want you back, get melted in my arms again,

In our thatched hut by Moyurakkhi's reign!


Ode to Dream

With your greeting I want to start my day,

Holding your hands I want to walk all the way.

A smile on your face is what I want to see,

A fountain of peace may always shower on thee.

A sweet melody may always be sung into your ears,

A light from the heaven may drive away your fears.

A song of harmony may always keep you sound,

My heartiest prayer for your coming round.

A few lines from my soul just not to encourage you,

Believe in you, Me, and Our dream: let it come true.


Ode on Solitude

Why do you set fire with your words in the rain?

Each moment it blazes and burns my belonging’.

Why do you come close staying so far?

Each time you turn aside when'er I come near.

Why do you make distance between two heart'?

Even knowing that they can't live apart.

Why did you raise love for you in me?

Even when I'm not worthy of thee.

Why do you care like none ever did?

Why can't I hold you each time I need?


Ode to Time

If we could hold on the moments

These memories wouldn't fade out,

We would pray to the Almighty and wait

To let the rain over Us when drought.

And to show Us the way when we're far away

And to bless Us His blessings every night and day.

To let Us breathe together as We are one,

And to reach Our dream that's still undone.

To give Us strength so that We can step up

And to fulfill the demands that humanity deserve.

We can't hold time so We let it run,

May God bless all before We are gone.


Ode to my Valentine

Let me get melted this morning in your arms,

My love! For its honesty; cause no harms.

Let me just fade out the rays of sun,

My love! For its purity; get it run.

Let me just decorate a palace in you,

My love! For its beauty; like a drop of dew.

Let me just say one, though we're two,

My love! For its aim; let me hold you.


Ode to Feelings

A waterfall reflects within its own,

A sun sets up as well as sets down

Sky shades its color over the horizon,

Gusty wind blows its painful tune.

He goes someday,

She makes her own way…

Time runs its chariot,

Frustration presses the tiny throat.

Fair rose ignores the dew drops,

Super powers lay into invisible traps.

Devoted soul doesn't get its meaning,

Everything changes with time! And so does feeling’.


Ode on Imagination

Seemingly I was one, but I felt two,

You're not there, but I lived with you.

You used to wake me up every morning

And offered greetings in my dream.

When the sun rose and spread its light,

You make me move with your flight.

You accompanied my class and sat by my seat,

Sometimes you offered a heavenly treat.

You whispered love songs in the evening air,

You're not near, but were everywhere.

I could not wipe the sweat on your face,

But you did always with your grace.

While going to bed you put out the light,

You kissed on my forehead and said "Good Night"

You're there, here You too,

Still I miss that part of You!


Ode to Life

Somewhere in life we belong to the same,

Someone over there we call up their name.

Some days go by,

Some incidents teach through cry

But life goes on together all alone with-

Some left over riches,

Some broken promises.

Some sun' never shone,

Something all can't own

But days gone by,

With tears full of eye’.

Some nameless flowers,

Some holy towers,

Shower in the rain;

But life goes on,

With what're left torn,

We welcome the pain.

Let’s leave all these shit'

And walk through twilight.

Let us hold on,

Until we're gone.

Let’s color the hue,

And make our dream true.


Ode to Reviler

You observed how I made a thousand rose bloom,

And set up ten thousand suns around the star.

You observed how I made the moonlight doom,

And got all its beams totally disappear.

Reviler always remarks negative triggering at me;

They’d call me amateur or just a bloody fool.

Don’t care for their words, I request Thee,

Even if they pass ill-comments and ridicule.

They can even convince You, I’m playing with You

Or confuse You with a strong emotion,

Don’t care for their words, I am not that,

You know much more than those, I am what.

Just believe in me, and hold me so tight,

I am going to present You, My reviler tonight.

See, O! My Reviler! Give me a glance,

Look at my notebook where the whole world dance’

Stars revise my words being downcast’

See, O! My Reviler! Just give me a glance!

Only you Bitch just misuse the Word

Why are you dumb now Looking at my Love?

Come to visit me and you’ll get astound,

Looking at my roof, no wall- all around.

You’ll be my Reviler within the four walls, so dark!

And will be inflamed, getting into evil embark’.

Look around my Reviler, look around,

Listen to my words and say how it sound’!

Look at my eyes and see her into it, and then complot my beloved

Just tell her how I sketched her, what I have had.

Go back to her my reviler, touch her feet,

She’s not so fool to be hurt by your trick.

Go away! O! Stupid Reviler! Go out of my sight!

Beg pardon to Her and request to hold Me so tight!


Ode on Anger

A mild agony on your pretty face,

Your dishonor is my love's disgrace.

I always try not to raise your anger,

And invite my own danger.

You slept starving and so did I,

Foolishly I mistake but both we cry.

You're sleeping now but cannot I,

Without you, each moment I feel like I die.

None is awaken now, else a few,

It's so hard to breath without you.

Noticing me a star, declared and vanish'

"Your day will start with her wish".


Ode to Myself

My Love didn't merely rise up nor set in,

I was born with the blessings of an immortal love in my soul.

Nobody admired my love!

I just wandered here and there wearing a mask.

I treated the fire as light and got burnt at the dusk.

I thought it's easy to find humanity in darkness! So, I embodied myself in the dark

four walls.

Some treated me with all their heart,

Some fought shy of leaving me apart.

But, I kept on cherishing the love within myself.

I don't fear for my love as it's enlightened by its own,

My love didn't merely rise up nor get down.


Ode to the Moment

I long for the spring when I’ll conquer

The time and distance,

To reach our goal and make my arms

Your permanent residence.

I long for the moment when you rely on me,

And let me fulfill the dreams you see.

I long for the care you'll render from heart,

To roll the rock and make our tiny hut.

I long for the reason why you won't leave me apart,

To inspire all the way with all your heart.

I long for my Girl! Long for all of her,

I long for the bonding that'll tie us forever.


Ode on Wonder

I've witnessed numerous beauties among the valleys over hills

I've witnessed the peasants’ pleasure in the ripe paddy fields.

I've witnessed the murder of the intellectuals in broad daylight

I've witnessed the lonely owl crawling in the moonlit night.

I've witnessed the cruelty of the kings over countries fellow

I've witnessed age old couples heaven in the hollow.

I've witnessed the circled birds’ careless fly

I've witnessed the humanity to be sly'.

I've witnessed thousands roses simultaneous bloom'

I've witnessed how false pride caused doom'.

I've witnessed her going away and his meaningless tears

I've witnessed the strongest one's trembling in fears.

I've witnessed the sweat in the working women's blood

I've witnessed how a chocolate makes a little orphan be glad!

I've witnessed the hanging of innocent Christ

I've witnessed the labor classes’ ponderous wrist.

I've witnessed so many sky scraping buildings

I've witnessed the prayer to the almighty for tiny things.

I've witnessed how the fame hunters bow down

I've witnessed the greedy grasping grains for his own.

I've witnessed so many songs as well as sins

Nothing made me astound rather raised hope in my blinks.


Ode on Sorrow

Everyone has some sorrows, and is too personal;

Some suppresses it, some can't at all.

Some even keep the words in their heart holder

Everyone has some words to say, though no sound to utter.

Everyone has silent moments, as the ancient tree has;

Some keeps them under pillows like the rootless lotus.



Everyone has a journey to make, there mayn't have a destination!

Like the aimless fragments circling in slow motion.



Some sure returns like the flow of water, Meandering

Some may still feel the rippling touch in silent Evening...


Ode on Responsibility

I can plant thousands of hundred trees to make the world greener,

If only you take the responsibility of watering those little plant.

I can make all the flowers bloom to decorate your surroundings,

If only you take the responsibility of saving those petals from dropping out.

I can make the gloomy cloud move to rain over your dried soul, If only you take

the responsibility of keeping the banks from being overflowed.

I can set the moon fixed right there to make the night brighter,

If only you take the responsibility of resisting the stars from fall.

I single handed can make the world peaceful and happier,

If only you take the responsibility of holding the other.


Ode to Valediction

Why did you gaze back even after going away?

Why have you become a stranger that day?

Why do you come in my thoughts every night and day?

Why do you pull me back when you’re far away?

I feel like you’re in my every step,

Even when I was awaken or slept.

Why don’t you then come so close?

Get me melted in your arms, why do you oppose?

If we’re not allowed for a regeneration,

It is our valediction,

So, let’s commit our last mistake,

For both our love’s sake.

Just come over all you fear,

For both our love’s sake, let’s dare

To make our dreams come true,

Let our soul live together, I and You.


Ode on Silence

Not a fairy tale, no more talks.

Sit here, by my side silent.

Even if your heart feels so heavy, no hugs.

Sit by my side, without complaint.

Let’s pour peace and make us glee,

Let my eyes meet for a while with thee.


Ode to Nature

O! The restless bloody sun,

Don’t wake us up, let our sorrows get burn’.

O! The glittering dew of autumn’s morning,

Stay a bit more, let me get her every blessing’.

O! The crowd of rush hour’s men,

Mind your business, don’t look at our den.

O! The scorching summer’s heat,

Get with a splash of rain, for her greet’.

O! The melancholy of dusky twilight,

Get perished right now, as quick a flight.

O! The melody of neon evening,

Keep silent for a while, let my beloved sing.

O! The firefly of late night,

Forget all songs and sins, let her hold me so tight.

O! The lonely moon of silent sea,

Close your eyes, in this dark: make her Kiss me.


Ode to Separation

Holding your hand I was waiting for the last time,

November rain made us commit the last crime.

There was rain how far we have seen,

The sky was cloudy, the fields were green.

Soon we left and the nature became dry

I screamed and aloud you cry’!

We're stopped by a gusty wind,

Both we looked back once again.

Lifting your hand you called my name,

I couldn't help coming back to my dame.

You sheltered me in your arms for once more!

And let me adore my You as before.

You raised your head and whispered in my ear,

Lets walk again, together forever…


Ode on Dedication

We each playing a role at the stage of life,

Sometimes in the act of joy sometimes of grief.

Sometimes in a romantic role,

Sometimes for an aimless goal.

Sometimes we play the tragic tune,

Some roles that we can never own.

Sometimes we get stuck of fears,

Sometimes we shed flawless tears.

Sometimes we act in the dusky evening,

Sometimes in the heavy rain.

Some roles give us delight unbound,

Some roles make our heart badly wound.

Some roles get place in the world history

Some roles end uncertain leaving mystery.

Some plays are dedicated to the duchess and du’e,

All my belongings I've dedicated to You.


Ode to Lust

O! Let me decorate the heaven in your curvy waist,

And then divide two legs to the east and west.

Let the silence cover all cry and hue.

And then discover me the world within you.

Let me rise as the sun over the horizon,

And then all my rays get fall' upon your own.

Thus we support each other to keep us young and warm,

And thus we'll burn everything that causes harm.

Let’s go beyond when we're young enough to own,

Allow me roam all over you before the dawn.

Now, breathe me in the garden between your breast’,

And then play hide and seek in your dark forest!


Ode to my Life

I've lost so many things since my birth,

Endured too much sufferings in this unwelcomed earth!

I went through all inhumane disgrace,

I found none to conceal, to embrace!

I tolerated in silence, tolerated all pain'

I couldn't cry aloud, I's dry even in rain!

I went through the ways cloud like dark,

I prayed for someone to bring me on track!

He once answered my prayer and sent you,

You revealed on dried grass as a drop of dew!

You turned all my grays into green,

All my screams, you made screen!

But I continuously made mistakes and u-turned all well,

Who knows! If I was predestined to be in this blissful hell…


Ode to Love

Love is night, love is dark

Love is day, love is spark.

Love is age, love is old

Love is a diamond, surrounded by gold!

Love is friend, love is foe

Love is well, love is woe.

Love is sleep, love is dream

Love is your first bite on ice-cream.

Love is all sweat, in every drops of tear,

Love is the courage, the reason you fear.

Love is smile, a scream aloud,

Love is comfort, a feeling to be proud.

Love is song, the way you sing,

Love is winter, belated spring.

Love is your sweet sleep, that you hug tight,

Love is my madness, my awaken whole night.


Ode on Tomorrow

When the little rays of hope get torn,

When the glee days of spring overshadowed by mourn.

When the tide of sorrow touches my toe,

When all my friends become foe.

When going to the ground I find our own,

When surrounded by thousands beside of none.

Like the lost ship embarked in the middle of the sea,

To reach the shore, to just get over thee.

I keep on searching in the oblivion,

Search like you; just for a companion.

I search for love, for cordial aid,

When I've hands, it must be accompanied.


Pocket Profile

Sabbir Hassan, a freelance Writer & Editor, has been working reputedly for more

than two years on various freelance platforms.

"Ode to My Valentine" is his debut literary piece on public. Currently, he is on the verge of

completing his graduation in English Language & Literature from Islamic University, Kushtia,

Bangladesh.

Since his boyhood, he was keenly interested in English Literature and he had to sacrifice

a lot to grab the opportunity to be a student of English Literature.
