The Well Items brought in by the seniors weekly are deeply appreciated by the Well. This is a very important community project. Many families benefit from our effort to share with others who are less fortunate than most of us. Please keep up the good work.

    Willow Springs Assisted Living

There are usually 15 residents who come to the gathering. We basically visit with each other, which they like to do! Then we have a snack and Lynn, the activities Director, does a Trivia game. This was a very rewarding experience. We would like to see other members join us in volunteering. The residents continue to enjoy the members who come each 2nd Friday of the month at 2:30. Please come anytime you are available. The residents love to see us.

Feel free to take cards out of the file

on the Welcome Table and send

them to someone on the Prayer List

or Birthday List. It means so much to

    those who receive them.

    Did you Know?

Take your tipsy pot garden to a new level with this cute halloween tipsy pot idea, instead of using clay pots, drill holes in plastic pumpkins and fill them with fall mums.

Ingredients 2 tablespoons good olive oil, plus extra to cook the pasta 1 pound lean ground sirloin 4 teaspoons minced garlic (4 cloves) 1 tablespoon dried oregano 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes 1 1/4 cups dry red wine, divided 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes, preferably San Marzano 2 tablespoons tomato paste Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper 3/4 pound dried pasta, such as orecchiette or small shells 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil leaves, lightly packed 1/4 cup heavy cream 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese, plus extra for serving Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large (12-inch) skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground sirloin and cook, crumbling the meat with a wooden spoon, for 5 to 7 minutes, until the meat has lost its pink color and has started to brown. Stir in the garlic, oregano, and red pepper flakes and cook for 1 more minute. Pour 1 cup of the wine into the skillet and stir to scrape up any browned bits. Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, 1 tablespoon salt, and 1 1/2 teaspoons pepper, stirring until com-bined. Bring to a boil, lower the heat, and simmer for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of water to a boil, add a tablespoon of salt, a splash of oil, and the pasta, and cook according to the directions on the box. While the pasta cooks, finish the sauce. Add the nutmeg, basil, cream, and the remaining 1/4 cup wine to the sauce and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened. When the pasta is cooked, drain and pour into a large serving bowl. Add the sauce and 1/2 cup Parmesan and toss well. Serve hot with Parmesan on the side.

    Weeknight Bolognese

will be a Halloween Costume Party! Anyone

can dress up, we will have a parade and judg-

ing for best costume. Donations of candy for

children coming to the Center will be accepted

for Halloween Night. Please bring a side item.

    BOUNCE THIS ALONG

Putting a Bounce Dryer sheet in your pocket when outside keeps insects and

    yellow jackets away.

It will chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them, and repels mice.

It takes the odor out of books and photo albums that dont get opened too often.

Eliminate static electricity from your television or computer screen

Dissolve soap scum from shower doors, clean with a sheet of Bounce

Put Bounce Sheet in a vacuum cleaner bag

Deodorize shoes or sneakers. Place a sheet of Bounce in your shoes or sneakers over-

    night.

Clean baked on foods from cooking pan. Put a sheet in a pan, fill with water, let sit over-

night, and sponge clean. Thank you, Lorraine Whistler
