World Mission Sunday is a special moment of encounter with the Pope’s missions throughout the world. It is a day for Catholics worldwide to recommit themselves through prayer and sacrifice to the Church mission. It is held the second to last Sunday every October. On World Mission Sunday we are provided an opportunity to nurture and enrich over 1,000 local churches in Asia, Africa, the Pacific Island, and parts of Latin America and Eastern Europe, an area that covers more than half the territory of the globe. Through the work of these churches, the poor receive practical help and experience God’s love and mercy. Please support the work of the mission Church and make a generous gift on World Mission Sunday. Let us share the joy of the Gospel with fervent prayer and generous hearts. For more information, contact the World Missions Office at 920-272-8192,

or email [email protected].

FAITH FORMATION YOUTH AND ADULT

Thanks to the St. Bernard Mom’s Group We now have Busy Bags available for children who need a little extra something to keep them busy during Mass! Each bag contains books, coloring books, crayons and a quiet activity. At this point we only have five Busy Bags, but if we see that the bags are being utilized we would be happy to add more as well as change up the contents. Busy Bags are located in the Narthex near the literature rack. Please return Busy Bags after each mass. Kara Main Evangelization Coordinator

7th Grade Day at Xavier High School, Friday, November 3 9:00 am-2:00 pm spend the day attending workshops in all of the academic

departments, participating in the brand new extra-curricular expo, and discover all that Xavier High School has to offer! Call 920-733-6632 to reserve your spot.

Living Your Strengths We are offing a six-week study called “Living Your Strengths” in November on Monday nights from 6pm -7:30pm. “Living Your Strengths” is an approach by the Gallup Organization to provide users with a tool to identify their God given strengths and talents. It has been said that people have several times more potential for growth when they invest energy in developing their strengths instead of correcting their deficiencies. How this study works: the user takes an online assessment and is given a list of five of their top strengths. We then spend six weeks in a study exploring and investigating these five strengths in relationship to ourselves, our family, our church, our work and community. The cost of this online as-sessment is $15 per person. We have computers in house for you to use if you don’t have access to the internet. This study was very successful with our Parish Council, Staff, and Faith Formation parents. Please check the display on the bulletin board near the Parish office for members of our Parish who have taken their strengths assessment. For further information call Colleen Sargent-Day at 739-0331 or email at [email protected]

COTS, Inc., “Community Outreach Temporary Services,” is a non-profit organization helping individuals experiencing homelessness in the Fox Cities. They provide transitional shelter to individuals in Outagamie, Winnebago and Calumet counties. The goal of COTS is to end homelessness by enabling individuals to transition to self-sufficiency and independent living. Founded in 1998 by former St. Bernard Pastor, Orville Janssen, COTS was created to assist single men in the area. In 2010, COTS began serving Single Mothers with Young Children and has since added a Veterans program, Single Women’s program, and Health Clinic pilot. Today, over 60 individuals are served on a daily basis. Case management, living skill classes and basic needs (shelter, utilities, food, household and personal needs) are provided to each resident in the program for up to two years. In addition, Aftercare Services are provided for up to two years following successful transitions of individuals. Help support COTS by donating toiletries, non-perishable food items, playing cards, hand warmers, and

puzzle books for all ages. Please return all donations to our Narthex by October 29th.
