GETTING TO KNOW YOU by Doris Hoover
“Speak positive about yourself and others. It’s all about manifestation.”
Encouraging words said by Jessie Pinkney, contributor for this month’s com-mentary. This lovely lady was born November 10, 1951, in the Milford Hospital to Flossy and Justus Young. Jessie has three sisters. Flossy was a stay-at-home mother until all the children were grown and then took employment as a cook in the Milford Hotel and also Paul’s Restaurant. Jessie’s father, Justus, worked for the Milford High School in the maintenance department. Her education was achieved in the Milford School District, graduating from Milford High School. Jessie’s first job was at the Milford Hotel and soon after became a Home Health Care employee. She is very adamant about health and wellness of ones self and recommends “take care of your health.” She was our member spokesperson concerning the doctor shortage in our community the afternoon WBOC-TV visited FSC. She was our TV celebrity-star giving a fantastic interview pertaining to the issues. Jessie and George Pinkney were married 1992 in the Liberty Church, Dover, DE They had one daughter, now deceased, and one granddaughter living in Magnolia, DE. George was employed with Perdue Company and now retired. They live in Magnolia, DE. Jessie is a member of the Liberty Church and volunteers in the activities of the church. Also, she is a member of the Sophisticated Ladies of Milford Red Hats and a dedicated member of FSC. She enjoys the many friends, delicious dinners, and the afternoons playing Bingo. (And a lucky Bingo player at that, a steady winner.) One of her favorite vacations was a trip to the Outer Banks in NC. She has a fondness for the color blue, the Olive Garden Restaurant, an appetizing chicken dinner, and watching TV game shows Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. “Always put God first” are the words of advice Jessie is passing on to you. Please convey your happy wishes and cheers to friend Jessie Pinkney.
