We’re compiling information and will report fully during our October meeting. Thanks to everyone who volunteered to contribute to this event’s success. We’ll applaud them all by name during our meeting on behalf of the vendors who turned plants into cash, the buyers who demonstrated that they enjoyed the experience and the plants they took home, and the Society’s members, who benefit from future activities funded by the Sale & Show. We are now entering the year’s fall quarter, as the change in this newsletter’s seasonal template reflects. As 2018 winds down, we look ahead to two more visiting speakers and our ever-popular Christmas party. Then, we’ll launch into 2019. We will continue to need members to volunteer for various short-term tasks during the year, and we also welcome members who will assume roles as board members or committee chairpersons (p.8). Those slots are ably filled at present, but they are always subject to turnover. Consider whether you could bring your time, energy and talent to any of those positions, and how rewarding and enriching that could be for you. We also welcome your ideas for activities that the Society could take on. We have talked about day trips, overnight trips, visits to members’ gardens, and other possibilities. We will work with the members to focus on high-interest activities and make them happen. Lastly, here’s a reminder that the Central Coast CSS needs volunteers to help out with the 2019 CSSA Conference, to be held in San Luis Obispo. We have listed the volunteer opportunities in this newsletter. We will check with the planners for an updated list and post it on our website: mbsucculent.org.
