Firstofall,IwanttobeginbyexpressingmygratitudetoeveryonewhoattendedourBack-to-SchoolNight.ThePTMSstaffputforthcountlesshoursofpreparationfortheevent.IwouldalsoliketogivespecialthankstoMr.KellyandthePTMSstudentswhodidanawesomejobwiththeNAORobotpresentation!
StudentsjustcompletedNWEAMAPtesting.Somemake-uptestingwilltakeplacewithinthenextfewdays.DuringthemonthofOctober,wewillbecelebratingtheWeekofRespect,wherewewilljoininwearingbluetoshowoursupportagainstbullying.WewillalsohaveTeamDay,GlobalRespectDay,andPRIDEDaytoshowourrespectforothers.TheGuidanceDepartmentisworkingwithstudentstocreateposterstodisplaythroughoutthebuilding.Studentswillalsohavetheopportunitytowritemessages of respect in front of the school on the sidewalks and driveway using washable, sidewalk chalk. Please stop by to see the students’ messages.
OnThursday,October6,2016,wewillwelcomeTrooperRussellandTrooperFunkoftheNewJerseyStatePolicetoprovidegrade-levelstudentpresentationsonCyber-Bullying.WetrulyappreciatethemtakingtimeoutoftheirbusyschedulestoeducateourstudentsonhowhurtfulstatementsandbullyingoccurthroughtheInternetandsocialmedia.ItisequallyimportantforourstudentstostandupagainstbullyingandshowPTMSP.R.I.D.E.(Patience,Respect,Integrity,Diligence,Empathy).
