Girl Experience New Leader Training - Girl Scout Leadership Experience Are you a new Volunteer, or have you been a leader for years? Either can benefit from the VTK/GSLE training. Learn about the processes and keys to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. What does GSLE actually mean? How do you implement and ensure you are using GLSE to provide your girls with true Leadership skills while in Girl Scouts. Also learn what the Volunteer Tool Kit is, and how you can use it to plan your Girl Scout year. The Volunteer Toolkit is a new digital planning tool that gives you resources and program content to get your year started—and keep it going smoothly! Fully customizable, the toolkit is digitally responsive so you can plan and prepare practically anywhere. We will be training on the VTK System. We will also learn about the importance of Take Action in Girl Scouts and why we work on Journey and Higher Award Take Action Projects. All leaders who attend will receive an incentive from the Girl Experience Team.

Volunteer Basics Training Series As we kickoff the new Girl Scout year we are excited about the new Customer Engagement Initiative. One of the awesome things about our new system is that all our new leader training is now done online. The new Volunteer Basics Training Series replaces the Troop Essentials curriculum from previous years. Our new process offers our newest volunteers consistent and timely training. They are able to do it at their convenience since it can be accessed at any time from any internet ready device that can view videos. After the training and knowledge check are complete, leaders receive an approval letter with Service Unit details and other information to help them get started.
Training for Returning Troop Leadership Volunteers (Troop Co-Leaders) has not changed. Before the start of the new Girl Scout year, they are
expected to complete GSWNY Grade Level training for their new level. This self-paced online training provides grade-level specific information on troop management, program options, planning troop meetings and developing girl leadership. There is a grade level training for each Girl Scout level. (Senior and Ambassador levels are combined into Older Girl training.) Trainings are listed in ebiz under the activities tab. Select Girl Leadership for Grade Level and GS101 Trainings.
Is Your Troop Truly Outstanding? The Super Troop program is offered by the Girl Scouts of Western New York as a way to recognize excellent Girl Scout troops. It’s a great way to plan a well-rounded year with your girls! Click to find out more!
