October Security Reminder:Risk Assessment and Layered Security Controls in Place for Online Transactions
The Firefighters Credit Union management team performs periodic Internet banking risk assess ments.A review is done to monitor new threats that are introduced either internally or externally. Not everyInternet banking transaction has the same level of risk. To manage this, layered security controls havebeen implemented. The following are some key layered security controls in place with Virtual Branch (Firenet):
1. Login ID is controlled by user.2. Security code is controlled by user.3. System automatically blocks access to account after three consecutive failed login attempts.4. Enhanced Authentication process validates user access device, layered with challenge
questions if needed, and is strengthened with an anti-phishing component.5. Last access date is displayed to user on each login.6. Automated session logout after period of inactivity.7. Automated alert sent to user upon change of Security Code.8. Automated alert sent to user upon change of email address.9. Optional alert to notify user when a new bill pay merchant is added or an existing bill pay
merchant is modified. In order for you to receive notifications, you must keep your email addresses up to date. Suspiciousactivity needs to be reported to the Credit Union as soon as you are aware of it. Please contact Memberor Electronic Services at 317-636-5581 or 800-462-1431.

Halloween Day
Wednesday October 31, 201210:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Again this year, we will be celebrating Halloween byhaving a costume day for the kids. Kids in costume whostop by the main credit union office will be “treated” toa $5.00 deposit into their account and get a goody bag.No tricks!
We encourage everyone to come out this year and help us celebrate Halloween. If your child doesn’t currently have an account at the credit union, don’t worry, we’ll have plentyof ghouls around to help them open an account so they can collect their treat. Don’t forget tobring in their Social Security Card if opening a new account.
