November is Lions Diabetes Awareness Month
50% of people with diabetes do not know they have it. Chances are that you, members of your club, or their families, are living with this disease right now. The good news is that many lives can be saved through simple lifestyle choices and better access to effective treatment.
We can all take action by raising awareness of
this silent health crisis.
The Diabetes Canada offer a Risk Questionnaire
http://www.diabetestest.ca
Taking this 10 minutes questionnaire will help you to find out if you are at higher risk of having pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes. Pre-diabetes is a condition where blood sugar levels are higher than normal, but not high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes. You can have pre-diabetes or undiagnosed type 2 diabetes without having any obvious warning signs or symptoms.
Knowing your risk can help you to make healthy choices which will reduce your risk or even prevent you from developing
diabetes.
For every test completed, Sun Life Financial will donate $3 to breakthrough diabetes research.
Share this Risk Questionnaire with your family and friends. Let us work together to raise awareness of diabetes.
