which included a family PreSchool service led by our rabbis, as well as five separate services for PreSchool through 12th Grade.

Rabbi Adler was a guest speaker on Shabbat Shuva and, in his inimitable way, had everyone “rolling in the aisles”. Rabbi Wohlberg’s Shabbat Shuva Drasha also drew a record crowd, as the rabbi addressed Jewish laws relating to burial and related traditions.

Sukkot at BT included yom tov services, activities and programs for virtually every age group. The beautiful Sukkot traditions were capped off with a rousing Simchat Torah celebration, with our first-ever Israeli-style barbeque kiddush, complete with hot dogs and Israeli salads.

Now, with the holidays behind us, BT begins an action-packed calendar of programs, starting with the annual BT Block Party (Oct. 6), the Penn Lecture (Oct. 9) and the Mercaz Fall Semester (Oct. 16). There is something for everyone, including some very special Shabbat programs for our young families, to enhance our popular weekly children’s services. For a complete calendar of events, visit our website’s comprehensive calendar at www.bethtfiloh.com/calendar.

Sisterhood News

A special treat for you! On Monday, October 21, 7:30 pm in the Tuvin Hall, Sisterhood will host Max Weiss, Balti-more Magazine editor, cellist, sports ma-ven, and film critic, who will delight us with her views on cinema, reminiscence about her favorite (and maybe not so) films, and take us inside the entertain-ment world. A discussion and dessert reception will follow. Free and open to the public with a reservation. Call Anita Knisbacher (443-798-8888) to reserve your spot.

Sisterhood Donor Banquet will take place on Monday, November 25. Honorees are Phyllis Neuman and Ricka Neuman, mother and daughter, for their devoted service to the congregation. Donor chairs are Susan Waranch and Charlene Schimberg.

It’s time to get your passes for Boscov’s “Friends Helping Friends” gala shop-ping day. On Tuesday, October 22, 9 a.m.—11 p.m., you can shop at Boscov’s (Westminster or White Marsh). The stores will be open only to pass holders on that day. The tax-deductible $5.00 donation cards entitle you to store entry, door prizes, large raffle prizes, and discounts of up to 25% for all-day shop-ping. Buy passes in the Gift Shop, or call Roselyn Kalb (410-486-3456) or Rosalie Klotzman (410-484-3393). Bring your friends and family, support Sisterhood projects, and shop till you drop.

Chanukah is early this year. First night is November 27, and the Gift Shop is ready with children’s toys, chocolate

gelt, and lovely chanukiahs. Visit the Gift Shop for religious items, advance bulk orders for B’nai Mitzvot celebra-tions, unique gifts, latke servers, one-of-a-kind aprons, and fine dining and kitchen items.

On Saturday, November 16, at 8:00 p.m., you’re invited to a combined Sisterhood/Brotherhood-sponsored Gala Night of Bingo in the Tuvin Hall. Come and socialize with your friends. TOP 5 REASONS TO GIVE BLOOD:

5. You will get free juice and cookies!

4. You will be helping to ensure that blood is there when you or someone close to you may need it.

3. Blood is something money can’t buy; it is some-thing that one caring person can give to another.

2. You will be someone’s hero! In fact, you may help save up to 3 lives with just one donation.

1. It’s the right thing to do (a huge mitzvah!)

Join the BT Professional Network on Linkedin

All members of the Beth Tfiloh family are invited to join the Beth Tfiloh Professional Network, a growing group on Linkedin. This group was originally founded by BT members Neil Sweren, Rob Hirschmann and Dan Kaplan. This group was created to serve its members by providing a forum for networking, professional resources, and sharing connections, both online, through the LindedIn group, and at offline meetings and networking sessions.

We welcome Beth Tfiloh members, school parents, faculty/staff (current and past), alumni, alumni parents and alumni spouses to further their ties and connections to one another and to Beth Tfiloh by creating a supportive business environment for professional growth and advancement.

The Linkedin group provides a searchable online member directory with links to online resumes and profiles. In addition to discusions and sharing of articles, members may post jobs (both job openings and jobs wanted) and promote their

businesses.

To join, go to www.linkedin.com, search for “Beth Tfiloh Professional Network”, and click “JOIN”.
