Road CYCLIng

Road cycling is a big part of my occupational identity. I biked ever since I was young with my family, however I got into cycling seriously when I was 13 and started racing competitively. I see road cycling as a very important occupation in my life as I love sport and keeping fit and healthy.

Camping is very important to my occupational identity. I have going camping at Totaranui the past thirteen years, with my family and family friends. It is a tradition that we do every year and has significant meaning to it as it holds many good memories.

BAKING

Baking is an important occupation to me. I have always grown up surrounded by my Mum’s cooking, and I have learnt from her how to cook. This is important in the aspect of ‘doing’ as I really enjoy the process of baking and cooking, and the prep that goes into making the food.

SKIING

Skiing is an important occupation to me, as I have been skiing ever since I was young with my family and belong to the club at Cragieburn Ski Field. This comes under the concepts of ‘doing’ and ‘belonging’.

TRAVELING

Traveling is a significant occupation to me. My family and I go on many holidays around New Zealand and Australia every year and have also travelled to Europe when I was younger. I hope to travel a lot more of the world in the next few years and this would come under ‘becoming’, as it would be part of my identity and who I am.

RUNNING

Running is a significant occupation to me as I really enjoy staying fit and healthy. I enjoy the ‘doing’ aspect of it. I am also going to run a half marathon this year, so this would come under the concept of ‘becoming.’
