Interviewing customers

• We conducted 10 face to face interviews • Sent email surveys and collected over 20

responses • Used a mix of open ended questions and close

questions to listen to their stories and collect quantitative data


What we’ve learnt from interviews

• Current travel habits of our prospects, what they like to do when they travel

• We’ve find out that most plan their travel themselves and occasionally use the service of tour guides, which are not always a positive experience

• They will be happy to have more personalised help of locals to move away from mass ‘tourist stuff’ and discover more authentic spots


What we’ve learnt from interviews

• Some prefer organised tours operators for safety reason but if that concern is lifted they would rather use locals

• A few love the anonymity of group tour in case they don’t like the tour they can easily do other things instead of offending the tour guide

• Depending on time they have for travel they might use the service of a local person or find their own way


Have we changed our business model?

• Feedback from customers confirmed the validity of Tourlancer.com offering

• Most of them are likely to use the service• Additional information collected helped to

refine offering and create additional features • This opportunity is worth pursuing for the

future
