The Brooklyn Navy Yard Redevelopment Projecofficially began in October 2009 and is well under way
The NYCRC is proud to help assist the green makeover
of the Brooklyn Navy Yard (BNY). This plan include
the installation of what will be the Citys largest sola
panel on the roof of the new Green Manufacturin
Center. Tenants will be able to rent spaces rangin
from 5,000 to 50,000 square feet. Since most of th
BNYs tenants are currently in spaces under 5,00
square feet, the environmentally efficient Gree
Manufacturing Center will give new tenants a wide
range of choices and current tenants the opportunity t
expand and grow. Andrew Kimball, President and CEO
of the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation
sees the growth of green manufacturing as directly tie
to New York Citys sustainability regulations and goals
New York City now requires that building owner
maintain environmentally advanced buildings and us
cleaner energy sources. The State of New York i
providing nearly $16 million towards the Gree
Manufacturing Center.
