nwu sleeve rolling
DESCRIPTION
A presentation on the proper method to roll the sleeves of the Navy Working UniformTRANSCRIPT
Sleeve Rolling
Lay uniform flat and
smooth out any wrinkles
Ensure cuff is fully-
extended and the cuff flap is
fastened to the first button
Turn sleeve inside out. Slide
the cuff up to and over sleeve
pocket, covering
approximately half of the
pocket (distance will vary due
to different sleeve lengths)
Continue to smooth fabric and remove any wrinkles throughout the entire folding process
Fold outer edge of sleeve to
estimated midpoint of light-
colored material
Folds must be less than 3”
to ensure the final fold will
completely cover all light-
colored material
< 3”
Fold new outer edge of
sleeve to the bottom edge
of the cuff
Continue to smooth fabric
to aid proper folding
Fold the cuff over the
light-colored material of
the sleeve
Tweak and peak fabric and ensure all folds are completely hidden underneath the cuff. Once complete, rolled sleeve will form a 3” wide band
3”
Repeat the same steps for
the other sleeve. Try to
match fold measurements
to create uniform length
When worn, the distance
from the bottom of the
sleeve to the elbow should
be approximately 2”
This fashion of rolling sleeves is designed to allow quick
unrolling. To unroll, grab the cuff only and pull downward
until completely extended. Re-button to fit wrist properly.
