Monday 22nd June:
Activity: Read/listen to the story of The Very Lazy Ladybird. Why is the Ladybird
lazy? What animals did the Ladybird meet on the way?
Maths Activity: Can you use the template below or make/draw your own ladybirds?
Can you colour them red and add 7 spots?
Literacy Activity: Where do ladybirds live? What shape are the spots on a ladybird?
back? How many legs do they have? What colours and patterns can you see?
Extension: Listen to the ‘t’ sounds video. Can you sing along as well as join in with the
actions? What can you find in your home beginning with the sound ‘t’? Example, table,
tent, tie.

Tuesday 23rd June:
Activity: Watch this short clip about ladybirds. Can you make a ladybird home? What
materials could you use? Could you use cardboard, sticks or rocks? What do ladybirds
eat?

Maths Activity: Can you go on a minibeasts hunt? You can use the recording sheet
below to count up how many of each minibeast you can find! Can you spot patterns on
them or count how many legs they have?
Literacy Activity:
What minibeasts were you able to find today? What did they look like? Were they big
or small? Round or long? What colours were they? Can you draw/paint your own
minibeast? What will it look like and what colours will you use?
Extension: Listen to the ‘t’ sounds video. Can you sing along as well as join in with the
actions? Can you tap the table whist making the ‘t’ sound? Can you tap your toes? Can
you remember the actions to the ‘t’ song?

Wednesday 24th June:
Activity: Can you make up a dance and move like the different minibeasts you have
spotted this week? Wriggle like a worm or fly like a ladybird, what can you come up
with? Can you remember how the ladybird moved around before she learnt to fly?
How did the animals in the story move?
Maths Activity: Pictures for ant counting below. How many ants are in the blue
square? How many ants can you see in the green circle? How many ants can you spot in
the red triangle?
Literacy Activity: Can you sing along to the ‘a’ song. Wriggle your fingers above your
elbow, pretending ants are crawling up your arm as you sing.
Extension: Can you sing by yourself and repeat the actions?
What ‘a’ am I thinking of? It is a round shape, can be green or red, grows on tree’s,
can be quite crunchy and we like eating them!

Thursday 25th June:
Activity: Have a look at some pictures of spiders webs, there are some below. Can you
make a spider’s web? You could draw one or make one using some string or wool. Can
you make a pattern like a web? What shapes can you see?
Maths Activity: How many legs does a spider have? Can you draw your own spider and
draw the correct number of legs? You can also use the template below.
Literacy Activity: Can you sing along to the nursery rhyme ‘incy wincy spider’ can you
follow the actions?
Extension: Can you remember the song and action for the ‘a’ song? Can you find some
things in your house beginning with ‘a’?

Friday 26th June:
Activity: What is your favourite minibeast? Can you pretend to be your favourite
minibeast and make yourself a den? You could use cushions and blankets. What could
you use from outside?
Maths Activity: Have a look at the butterfly picture, (down below) how many
different colours can you name? How many red butterflies can you see? How many
green butterflies can you spot? How many blue butterflies can you spot? How many
yellow butterflies can you spot?
Literacy Activity:
Read/listen to the story of The Very Lazy Ladybird. This time can you act out the
story, what do the animals do to make the ladybird hop away? What movements and
noises do the animals make?
