EDOARDO DE ANGELIS

Edoardo De Angelis, born in 1978 in Naples, is an Italian filmmaker and screenwriter. He spent his childhood in a town at the foot of Vesuvius, which is the most over-populated in the world after Hong Kong: Portici. Involved, in spite of himself, in the migration of late eighties he moved to an inland city 25 kilometers from Naples to Caserta. Brought up by three women, he grew into a promising player of polo, but at 19 he discovered the film and acquired the degree in directing at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome.

He participated at the Kustendorf Film and Music Festival with movies Gino Pacino's mystery and passion (Critics' prize at Kustendorf 2008) and Beach Boy (2009).

PAOLA RANDI Paola Randi is a graduate in Law, simultaneously studying drawing, painting and engraving. She worked as a Project Manager for 12 years for nonprofit international organizations introducing women in the world of economics. In 1996, she founded TTR, a tri-monthly theater and visual art magazine. From this publication originated the International Theatre Research Festival in Milan. Since November 2003, she has been exclusively engaged in cinema. She was selected at the Talent Campus of the Berlinale (Berlin International Film Festival) in 2004, which included Ken Loach, Mike Leigh, Stephen Frears, Anthony Minghella, Walter Murch, Alan Parker, as her professors. This achievement was followed by the Werner Herzog seminar at the Turin Holden School. Into Paradiso is her first feature film.

 NICO CIRASOLA

Nico Cirasola is a director/ jack-of-all-trades from Apulia. He has made a name for himself with his spare style and open ended films. He made his debut as a director, screenwriter and actor alongside Renzo Arbore in The Smell of Rain (1989) and subsequently directed and acted in Corsica (1992) and Da Do Da (1994). He then acted in the films Afraid to Love (1995), The Summer of Bobby Charlton (1995) and Life Blood (2000). He returned to directing with Albania Blues (2000), Bell'Epoker (2003) and Focaccia Blues (2009), where he continues to emphasize the philosophical, poetic, and striking side of his work, going so far as to embrace nonsense and extravagance.

TONINO ZANGARDI Tonino Zangardi attended Il Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Experimental Cinematography Center) of Milan, majoring in Film Directing. He has directed numerous documentaries for national television, among them the award-winning Le vie consolari (1992). He also directed the feature films Allullo Drom (1993), Prendimi e portami via (2003), (2006) and, most recently, the award-winning Sandrine nella Pioggia (Sandrine in the Rain) (2012).

MOZZARELLA STORIES

Synopsis: In the kingdom of Mozzarella, Ciccio is the absolute king

or better said, the Master Cheese Maker. After years of undisputed supremacy, Ciccio is now facing an unprecedented crisis that places him into a marketing war against mysterious Chinese entrepreneurs. The Chinese, unexpectedly, invade supermarkets and restaurants with high quality, excellent mozzarella at half of the cost. In anticipation of being ruined by the Chinese competitors, Ciccio sets a series of events in motion that will affect his daughter Sofia, a fascinating and charismatic woman. Also involved are the confident singer Angelo Tatangelo; Autilia, an old girlfriend never forgotten; and Dudo an ex-water polo champion. Ciccio deals with the complex expectations of the shady Mastu Pascale, the lethal violence of Gravino, and the melodramatic

rpetta. When all seems lost, a wise accountant brings excellent advice, and an enigmatic Chinese masseuse shows Sofia the way to achieve what no other woman has achieved before.

There, he meets Sandrine, a woman as mysterious as she is infuriating, who brings drastic-

secret. Sandrine in the Rain is a classic story of multiple identities, revenge, betrayal, and the complexities of attraction. The consequences of our actions, be they conscious decisions or random twists of fate, are the constant reminders of the seemingly thin hold we have on our lives and how quickly it can unravel.

Synopsis: Bari (Apulia) 1991. In a dark audience, two strange figures wander. Gasoline, a rope, a match. A few seconds, The Politeama Theater, once an icon and the pride of the city, is left in flames, ashes and destruction. Only one person resists the instinct to flee, standing in the doorway, between astonishment, and sadness. Confusing images dance into his mind: the birth of the Theatre, the costumes, the dancers, the Parisian style shows; the poker matches among the local aristocrats. The destiny of the town is in the hands of Barons and Counts menaced by the new bourgeoisie. Intrigues, passions, women, and symbols. The "game"" rules: the silence, and the secrets. The art, music, celebrities, dreams, and power sadly fade away, lulled by the wind together with the incinerated remains of Bari and the Belle Époque.
