We are committed to provide continuous power to the country. Complying with all the Govt guidelines related to lock-down and social distancing, our Power Stations are operating continuously with requisite number of manpower and rest are contributing from home through the extensive IT support provided for ensuring smooth functioning. All our projects hospitals have been geared up to handle the situation and related equipments and PPEs are being procured and distributed. Our site management is in touch with Local /State Authorities and we are extending requisite support. Many activities are being undertaken by NTPC units to support the stakeholders. Further details are covered in this report. All possible Communication channels including social media are being harnessed to raise awareness about the virus with elaborate Do’s and Don’ts through series of creative messages.

Some of the Recent Activities ● NTPC Khargone handed over a cheque of 14.69 lakhs to Collector Khargone towards running

of community kitchen at Sanawad and Barwah. Further, 3500 face masks were also handed over to Collector Khargone in the presence of SP Khargone.

● NTPC Anta handed over liquid hand wash, masks and sanitizers to District Administration. ● 100 Nose Masks and 20 Hand Sanitizers were handed over to President, Sundargarh Press

Club for distribution amongst its members by NTPC-Darlipali. ● 200 mask distributed to needy villagers & 100 mask distributed to Members of Kaniha Press

Club.In addition 200 KG of Chuda or Poha & 100 Kg of Sugar distributed to needy villagers

Isolation rooms / beds kept ready at all site's hospital/health centers

The telemedicine facilities available at sites are being effectively utilised in the present COVID-19 situation.

SPREAD & COVERAGE OF OUR HOSPITALS

NTPC has 45 Hospitals /Health Centers across the country with 238 doctors, 59 ad-hoc doctors and 1030 para medic staff.

We are undertaking various activities to get our hospitals prepared to handle the situation.

STEPS TAKEN TO EQUIP OUR HOSPITALS

192 Isolation beds have been created across all hospitals/Health Units, with oxygen supply. If need arises, additional beds can be made ready.

Guidelines issued by MOHFW regarding the management of suspected/ confirmed COVID 19 patients have been issued to all CMOS and a VC on the same subject has been done.

Testing, treatment and transport guidelines as issued by MOHFW has also been shared with all the CMOs.

KEY EQUIPMENTS AVAILABILITY & EFFECTIVE USE OF TELEMEDICINE A.Ventilators : 13 available at different hospitals, 12

under procurement and 18 ALS ambulances with ventilator available.

B.1,20,000 surgical masks, 5000 N95 masks, 20,000 disposable gloves, 3300 sterile gloves, 10,000 plastic gloves, 5000 aprons, 8000 shoe covers,535 ltr sanitizer, 520 IR Thermometers and 1200 PPE kits procured by CC Medical for distribution to site hospitals.

C. Extensive use of Telemedicine Facilities: Through the dedicated platform of telemedicine run in association with C-DAC (Paramarsh App), specialists and super specialists of corporate hospitals are made available. For these services ,NTPC Bongaigaon has tie up with Apollo Chennai and NTPC Darlipalli has tie up with E-Vaidya, Hyderabad. This year, since February, around 1165 patients have been provided medical consultations. The second platform of Jeevanrekha, a hospital management system of NTPC, enables seeking of medical advice and prescriptions while sitting at home. After 23rdMarch, more than 57,966 patients have availed tele-consultations on this platform.

MEASURES UNDERTAKEN TO SUPPORT LOCAL ADMINISTRATION

Our sites are in regular touch with Distt. Authorities for any support required and based on the requests received so far, the following are being arranged:

i. Hospitals: a. Badarpur-Delhi (Made Ready) b. Sundergarh-Odisha (One wing and one residential hostel handed over and has been

inaugurated on 20.04.2020) c. Bhadrak-Odisha (Operations and management of a 120 bed COVID-19 care center for 3

months) Further, two medical officers of NTPC Korba have been deputed for Kathghora PHC duty by the DM, Korba.

ii. Financial Support: Approx. Rs. 12.30 Crore spent /committed to concerned State /Administration/other Authorities/Institutions for Medical equipment, PPEs, food etc.

Steps being undertaken to provide food to the local population / contractor's workers / construction site workers

• Arrangements like food, stay and medical facilities are being provided to outsourced workers at projects and stations.

• Further, requirement of outsourced workers has been rationalized and all the agencies have been advised to treat the absence of outsourced workers as on-duty and release their wages timely.

• Also food packets are being distributed at many locations for the family members of such workers.

Distribution of PPEs, food packets/ daily essentials have been taken up for nearby elderly / pregnant & lactating mothers / physically challenged and other marginalised sections of the society including poor families. As on date, around 4610 PPE kits, 7.60 lakhs Masks and 17,650 litres sanitizers have been distributed by NTPC Units for its hospitals as well as local stakeholders.

Quarters/other locations in our townships are also being earmarked and beds made ready for isolation/quarantine purposes as also for making stay arrangements of the contractors’ workers.

FUNDS SPENT & EARMARKED FOR THE PURPOSE

NTPC has contributed Rs 250 Crore to PM CARES fund.

Employees’ salary contribution of Rs. 7.50 Crore (Seven Crores, Fifty Lakh Rupees) also deposited to PM CARES Fund.

Further, approx. Rs. 21.74 Crore have been directly spent/committed by various units of the company.
