One of the main strategic directions of the Ukrainian Library Association (ULA).
Over 17 years of its work the ULA has proposed different types of professional development.

The continuing education for Ukrainian librarians
In 2000 the Center for the Continuing Library and Information Science Education was created jointly by the ULA and the National Academy of Administrators in Culture and the Arts.
So over the last 12 years thousands of Ukrainian librarians have taken part in the trainings, workshops, conferences, and fairs, among others.

The continuing education for Ukrainian librarians
The new period of the continuing education has begun since 2009 with the launch of the Bibliomist Program in Ukraine.
The National Training Center (NTC) in Kyiv and 24 Regional Training Centers (RTC) were established and created the All-Ukrainian professional educational network for librarians.

Licensing and Certifying
All training courses are licensed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
All participants become certified by and receive certificates from the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.
