Week 1, Unit 1 Introduction to Networking ConceptsExerciseFor this ExercisePlease evaluate the information provided and after reading in the lessons for this week, answer the scenario deliverables in a word document with a cover page and references included. This exercise is due at the beginning of the next class meeting.Case Scenario 1-1: Designing Windows Server 2008 Network Services

Lucerne Publishing is a publishing company based in New York City, New York, which produces science textbooks for colleges and medical schools. In recent months, Lucerne Publishing has been planning a move towards a virtual office, where over three hundred writers, editors, and graphics personnel will transition to working out of their homes instead of working in traditional brick-and-mortar offices. The main office in New York City will continue to house roughly 200 employees working in centralized functions such as Payroll, Accounting, and Human Resources. Each of these departments maintains a number of file and application servers that house sensitive personal and financial data, all of which require extensive security for their sensitive data. As the network administrator for Lucerne Publishing, you are tasked with configuring remote access for these new virtual office employees, while still maintaining the overall security of the Lucerne Publishing network.

Based on this information, answer the following questions:1. In order to support access for remote employees, you have been authorized to upgrade Internet access at the Lucerne Publishing corporate office. You expect a significant increase in both inbound and outbound traffic as Lucerne Publishing makes the transition to a virtual office environment. You need to choose a method for routing traffic to and from the Internet and the corporate offices. Should you configure a Windows Server 2008 computer to act as your Internet router, or select another option? 2. What types of access can you support for virtual office staff members to access corporate resources, and how will you provide this access? 3. Lucerne Publishings Chief Security Officer has expressed a concern over the security risks posed by allowing access to internal networks by virtual office computers, given that these computers will not be closely monitored by corporate IT staff. What can you do to minimize the risks to Lucerne Publishings internal resources?

1) If you configure a windows server 2008 computer to act as an internet router you may be better off purchasing a new router. The windows server might not give off a Wi-Fi signal, a new Wi-Fi router will give off the signal youre looking for.2) Answer Through VPN certainly. However, if the coin is on the other side, it may not be as good for you, so ask Baxstar. Virtual.3) A key factor in operating in export markets is the currency exchange rate movements. The nature of the worldwide currency markets means that predicting the future is almost impossible. There are many factors that affect the currency exchange rates and from all around the globe but good old supply and demand make the rates. A key driver to currency exchange rates is the interest rates.NT1330 Client-Server Networking II Page 1 of 2 Week 1, Lessons 1 and 2
