National Service Scheme (NSS) was launched on 24th September, 1969. This 24th
September it entered in to 50th year of existence and this year is being celebrated
as GOLDEN JUBILEE YEAR OF NSS.
We NSS UNIT organized the event in association with JCI Junior Chamber
International, NGO , Tirupati and Thyrocare Labs Pvt.Ltd , Tirupati.
Chief guest and speaker of the function is JCI Sen. G.L. Manohar,Member of
Administrative Committee, JCI India,Managing Director,Koundinya Enterprises Pvt. Ltd.
(Maruti Exclusive Car Care Service Centre and Driving School),DirectorAGS Junior
College.
A health camp has been conducted exclusively for all 150 volunteers of NSS UNIT.Health
check up worth 300 Rs per pax (RBS and TSH ) was offered free of cost to the
volunteers by the thyrocare labs Pvt.Ltd, Tirupati in association with JCI Junior chamber
International , Tirupati, NGO.
In Connection with the event we conducted In house spot activities such as essay
writing, poster presentation, Debate etc in prior and gave away the prizes and certificate
of appreciation for all the winners of respective events by the chief guest of the function.
Also, on this occasion Best volunteers of 2018-19 were elected by their predecessors and
given the momento and certificate of appreciation by the chief guest:

A guest lecture ‘LIFE SKILLS FOR ENGINEERING STUDENTS’ was given by the chief
guest Mr.Manohar Garu. One of the student volunteer said- she was motivated and felt
the lecture has opened new perspective on the life after the professional education
especially engineering.

Finally, On this occasion we Affixed a superscription "GOLEDEN JUBILEE YEAR OF NSS
(2018-19) - 50 YEARS IN NATIONAL SERVICE" in banner / activity display for the
activity conducted.

A free Medical camp was organized by Sree Vidyanikethan College of Pharmacy in
collaboration with CRD-ISR and NSS UNIT on 15th October 2019 at
ChinnaRamapuram Village, Chittoor (dist), Andhra Pradesh.
The Health camp was inaugurated by Revered CEO of SVET Mr. Manchu Vishnu
accompanied by Director- cum -Advisor Prof. L. Venugopal Reddy, Research
Advisor Dr. Lazar Mathew and Dr. P.C.Krishnamachary, Principal, Sree
Vidyanikethan engineering college.

The health Camp programme commenced at 10:00 am at the health campsite in Chinna
Ramapuram village. Doctors from various medical specialties volunteered to treat the
patients Dr. Maruthi, M.S, (Orthopedic Surgeon), Dr. M. Manjula, (Gynecologist), Dr .N.
T. Muntaz, MDS (Dentist), Dr. S. Surendra, (Ophthalmologist), Dr. M. Radhakrishna
Moorthy, M.S (Ophthalmologist), Dr. M. Srihari Naidu, M.D (General Surgeon)
volunteered and extended their valuable Medical Services to the public of Chinna
Ramapuram village. The patients were screened for hypertension, Diabetes, Hemoglobin
levels and blood grouping was carried out by volunteer students of Sree Vidyanikethan
College of Pharmacy. Patients were diagnosed by specialist doctors and were issued with
appropriate prescriptions. Complaints regarding vision and other ophthalmic
complications were screened and treated by an ophthalmologist. Prescribed drugs were
dispensed free of cost.

Total of 260 patients of China Ramapuram utilized the free medical camp and free
medicines were distributed to the needed.

Expert Lecture on Health Awareness on 10th October 2018 was inaugurated at the hands
of our Principal, Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College, Dr. P.C.Krishnamachary
Principal, at 4.00 PM at ED cell.

Dr. C. Sandeep Reddy (Ms Ortho Specialist) was the speaker of the day along
accompanied by the representatives from Dr.Reddy’s Foundation for
Health Education (DRFHE).
Around hundred members of faculty attended this expert lecture.
This programme attempts in reducing the looming non-communicable disease
epidemic by reaching out to corporate employees creating awareness and
resulting in disease prevention. Surge in non-communicable diseases have
been noticed in employees of corporate sector and hence the need for
awareness is paramount.
Their flagship health initiative titled “Awareness for Life” explains the
purpose and objective of the Program.
At the outset, the speaker of the day emphasized on Indians getting
afflicted with osteoarthritis causing restricted movement with a caption
‘don’t settle for being a couch potato with little activity’.

Secondly he spoke on the incidence of osteoarthritis (after age 55) is
higher in women, with a caption ‘don’t resign yourself to leading a
vegetable like existence later in life’.
Further he focused on cartilage erosion as one of the causes of the
leading ailment affecting Indians with a caption ‘do not go nuts later, be
informed today’.
The programme ended with an aim to take it forward in our endeavor and
to prevent as much as diseases spreading in the society and join our
hands with Dr.Reddy’s Foundation for Health Education (DRFHE) in this
initiative to spread Continuous Health Awareness for Life, to prevent the
diseases.

We, Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College (Autonomous) in association with
Dr Reddy’s Foundation for Health Education (DRFHE) are committed to address the
alarming situation of serious complications of lifestyle diseases like Heart Disease,
Diabetes and Hypertension through awareness programs and relevant activities since
October 2018.
Objectives:
We always train our human resources in various possible ways to keep them
engaged, updated and make them deliver the best. But often their physical and
emotional well-being are ignored which exposes them to serious complications of
lifestyle diseases.
As it is wisely said “Prevention is better than cure”, we trust that “information and
awareness” are the first steps towards prevention of diseases especially the
lifestyle related ones.
An awareness talk on 25th October 2018 was inaugurated at the hands of our
Principal, Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College, Dr. P.C.Krishnamachary and Principal,
Sree Vidyanikethan Nursing College Dr.S. Anuradha and Dr.B.Mohan Director, SVIM at
4.00 PM at Civil Department Seminar Hall, SVEC campus.
Dr.A.Bhaskar Reddy MD D.M. Cardio Narayanadri Hospital, Tirupati was the
speaker of the day accompanied by the representatives from Dr.Reddy’s
Foundation for Health Education (DRFHE).
Around 37 members of faculty attended this expert lecture.
This programme attempts in reducing the looming non-communicable disease
epidemic by reaching out to corporate employees creating awareness and
resulting in disease prevention. Surge in non-communicable diseases has been
noticed in employees of corporate sector and hence the need for awareness is
paramount.
Their flagship health initiative titled “Awareness for Life” explains the purpose
and objective of the Program.

Affected with Coronary artery diseases and its risk factors like Age, Family
History, Smoking, High blood pressure, High blood cholesterol levels,
Diabetes and obesity.
Secondly he spoke on Corporate Health and Wellness Survey which states that
56.1% population of corporate are at high risk of Heart Diseases.

NSS UNIT of Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College (Autonomous) in
collaboration with ARH Diabetes centre, tirupati organized a diabetes camp in a
befitting manner for Faculty and Staff of SVEI (Sree Vidyanikethan Educational
Institutions).

During the inauguration he added “Diabetes can slow you down,... It can make
your life different. But it doesn't have to stop you if you take good care of
yourself” and advised all the members of faculty, Staff to utilize the opportunity.
Non-teaching staff member, SVEC giving the blood sample at the venue
M/s. ARH Diabetes Center offered Fasting Blood Sugar, HBA1C, and Post
Prandial Tests for the diabetics and OGTT for Non-Diabetics along with the
doctor consultation and diet counseling for free to all the beneficiaries.

On this occasion nearly 250 teaching and non teaching staff of all institutions
has given the blood samples at the venue. Based on the test reports 72 diabetes
patients got benefitted through the lab reports and nearly 25 people were newly
diagnosed with the Diabetes.
Dr.M.Krishna Chaitanya MBBS, MD - Medicine, Post Graduate Diploma in
Diabetology (PGDD), ARH Diabetes Center addressed special counseling session
on diet, physical exercise for abnormal sugar condition people and prescribed
medicines.

mega blood donation camp on 19-03-19.
NSS Volunteers with the staff of Gov. Maternity Hospital, Tirupati.
Major Recipient organizations such as Sree Venkateswara Institute of Medical
Sciences (SVIMS), Govt. Maternity Hospital (GMH), Sree Venkateswara
Ramnarayan ruia Government general Hospital (SVRRGGH), SVS Charitable
Trust from tirupati have taken part in our Camp.

Pre blood donation checks were done for all the individuals around 600 students
and staff together of which 400 eligible people have donated blood voluntarily
in the event.
Dr.M.Mohan Babu, Chairman of SVET have inaugurated the event and conveyed

Certificates were given to the voluntary blood donor’s right at the venue.
Objectives:
To create awareness and educating the people about the ill effects of
alcoholism and substance abuse on the individual, the family and society
at large.
To promote collective initiatives and self-help endeavors among
individuals and groups vulnerable to addiction and considered at risk
