Beneficial Occupancy Readiness Evaluation

• Successful BORE(s) are required to allow safe access for project staff and installation of technical equipment

• General scope is to review conventional construction with a focus on the systems/components, worker qualification and emergency response necessary to ensure personnel safety in support of equipment installation

• BORE(s) are scheduled in phases that follow logical construction completion sequences

• First BORE Phase1 – February 2011 and continuing every month or two for a total of 16 BORE Phases (if all LOB’s built out).

• Specific NSLS-II BORE Plan Developed with Lab ESH Directorate input• Assigns responsibilities (NSLS-II, Lab and Contractor)

• Defines Scope

• Pre- BORE walk downs start ~ 3 months prior (November 2010)

• Pre & Post Occupancy identified issues are tracked in family ATS

• Defines deliverables – T&Q, run cards, interim procedures, official transfer of identified utility equipment to F&O, etc.

Beneficial Occupancy Readiness Evaluation

• BORE’s will follow the Laboratory SBMS Subject Area “Readiness Evaluations”

PRE-BORE

• A series of Pre-BORE walk downs of the facilities will begin in November. • Intent is to familiarize team members with the assets that

will comprise the subject of the BORE• Identify any issues that may impact the success or schedule

of the BORE• Issues tracked to closure• Walk down will include core BORE team and interested

observers• Process was successful with the CFN project
