Role is related to the Service Platform domain with responsibility for subscriber aware network control platforms (e.g. AAA, PCRF, On Line Charging functions, billing gateways, subscriber profile repositories) value added services, and server platforms, all underpinning customer facing EE services.

Knowledge of these network elements is required as well as interfaces they use (Radius, Diameter, LDAP, Gx, Gy, etc.)

Close working is required across other teams within Technology.

The team works on behalf of all EE brands with a remit that covers the legacy Orange and T-Mobile networks as well as the converged EE estate.

Role purpose: The role is to carry out Design and Planning activities for the core network functions.

To ensure that roll-out plans are aligned with design changes, conversely that designs cater for roll-out requirements (such as scalability and performance measures).

Refine and review business requirements, influencing them to ensure the most effective use of the network’s resources.

Create and maintain robust design and planning documentation that:o encapsulates a technical definition of the solution;o integrates with designs from other domains through utilising the end-

to-end Solutions functions;o aligns with the longer term network evolution strategy;o identifies system interfaces;o capacity, scaling and upgrade rules for in-life expansion;o delivers an appropriate operations and maintenance (network

monitoring) capability;o maintains or improves current state knowledge of EE’s end-to-end

network. Manages the interface with the Network Control and Delivery / Operations

communities (Access or Core) to ensure the successful transition from design to delivery to operational acceptance.

Coordinate the activities of third parties, such as vendors, outsourced partners, or parent companies, to manage the successful development and delivery of designed solutions.
