Characterised by intrinsic safety features combined with the highest levels of service continuity
Standards
PIX is fully type-tested switchgear compliant with the latest IEC 62271-200 standard.
PIX is defined as follows: Partition Metallic (PM): it is provided with metallic shutters and partitions between adjacent compartments.
Loss of Service Continuity (LSC) 2B: service of the main busbar and of the cable compartment are ensured when normal maintenance operations are carried out in one of the compartments of the main circuit (e.g. circuit-breaker compartment). PIX meets the highest levels of service continuity.
Internal Arc Classified (IAC) A FL(R): it is accessible from the front, side and rear with a 1 second rating in all compartments.
In addition, PIXs design meets or exceeds most national specifications. Please contact us for more details.
A Reference in High Specification Applications
PIX is approved in a wide range of applications with high specifications. For example in Oil, Gas and Petrochemical (onshore and floating installation) applications, PIX is on Shells approved supplier list, as well as on the lists of many other national and international oil companies. PIX is also included in Chevrons preferred supplier agreement.
Safety
The PIX range has been specially designed to maximize operator safety and service continuity.
All operations are carried out from the front of the equipment with compartment doors closed. A comprehensive range of interrogative me-chanical interlocks prevent operational errors and are designed to prevent operating levers being inserted, unless it is safe to do so.
Easy Access to all Compartments
PIX has been designed for front access to minimize space requirements. The functional design of front panels affords easy access to the separate compartments within the cubicles. In addition, internal partitions can be quickly and
easily removed to facilitate access for installation, cabling and commissioning, as well as for inspection and maintenance.

PIX Compact
PIX Compact is the latest addition to our Medium Voltage family, mirroring all the construction characteristics of the stan-dard version. PIX is defined as follows:
This specific version has been optimized for the low ratings of the Primary Distribution range - up to 17.5 kV / 31.5 kA / 2,500 A.
PIX Compact can be equipped with vacuum circuit-breaker and contactors.
Integrating many of the proven components from the PIX range, it has all the intrinsic features of the standard version: high reliability and quality.
All operations can be carried out directly from the front of the unit, as on all PIX cubicles.
Compact dimensions start with a 600 mm wide cubicle for ratings up to 1,250 A. Rated cur-rents of 2,500 A are achieved in a 800 mm width cubicle, for both voltage levels i.e. 12 kV and 17.5 kV.
This is a truly compact and cost effective solution for all your low rating applications.
High Safety Levels
PIX Compact is designed using the latest tech-niques to ensure that the highest levels of opera-tor safety are always maintained.
Fully tested to all the latest IEC standards Highest levels of Internal Arc Classification Rigid cubicle construction and rising door/cover design.

PIX Standard
PIX standard is the core switchgear of the family.
PIX is produced in our regional manufactur-ing centers and customized throughout the world, to match our clients local needs and expectations.
PIX has been fully tested according to the latest IEC 62271-200. PIX is both flexible and adaptable with a wide range of ratings and options.
PIX is in operation in power stations, utili-ties, infrastructure, oil & gas, mining and metals and in other industrial applications on all five continents - with many thousands of references confirming PIX as the trusted solution.
PIX Marine
Marine and offshore applications require high power, performance and availability under harsh environmental conditions (vibration, inclination and shocks).
To meet these requirements, we have extended our PIX medium voltage switchgear range with a Marine ver-sion called PIX V up to 17.5 kV. The PIX V technical characteristics are equivalent to PIX.
PIX V is designed and tested to meet the requirements of the following classification authorities: BV, RINA and LRS.

PIX MCC
With todays large and medium-sized industrial installations using MV motors to drive their plants, the controlgear must provide maximum reliability and minimum down time. To meet these specific requirements, PIX MCC supplements our PIX switchgear range.
The PIX MCC is a slimline design which lines up directly with the PIX range without interface cubicles. The design philosophy and operation are similar to the PIX switch-gear range, helping reduce training time and minimize the risk of improper use. The combination of PIX & PIX MCC provides the total solution for power plants, process plants and Oil & Gas applications.
Extensive Features
Combining many of the standard PIX family features, the PIX MCC offers the following high-lights: Easy access front or rear, top and bottom main cabling

PIX HighHeavy industrial process plants as well as power generating plants require a depend-able supply of high power energy to ensure continuity of service.
To meet these demanding needs, Schneider Electric includes a high performance version within the PIX switchgear range: PIX High, designed specifically for high rated applica-tions
Enhanced DesignIn addition to the functions of PIX standard, PIX high is enhanced with the following ratings: Up to 17.5 kV, 95 kV BIL, 50 kA for 3 sec with continuous ratings up to 5,000 A.
High EfficiencySpace efficiency is ensured by class leading switchgear dimensions - up to 2,500 A in an 800 mm wide cubicle and back-to-wall installations. Safety at all times
Safety is never compromised - PIX High has the highest levels of Internal Arc Classification - 50 kA for 1 second in all compartments, without the use of detection devices.
Pressure relief is always at the top of the cubicle and either arc ducts or arc deflectors can be fitted.
Ventilation openings are restricted to the top and rear of the cubicle, ensuring there is no possibility of any arc venting towards the operator.
Personnel can be confident that their safety is assured under all operating conditions.
A Wide Range of Applications
PIX High is used in a wide range of high power applications including power genera-tion (nuclear, conventional and renewable). PIX High has successfully passed the most demanding seismic testing, making it suit-able for future nuclear plants. These tests include: CST 74.C.022.04, HN 20-E-53, RCC-E B4000

PIX Double Busbar Energy supply without outages is guaranteed with PIX 2B double busbar switchgear.
The design combines all the technolo-gies and components of the single busbar design - with the added advantages of a double busbar switchboard.
Network Availability Network continuity is assured by utilizing separate disconnector switches for each busbar, allowing power to be transferred from one busbar to another without inter-ruption. Moreover the PIX 2B switchboards can be extended at both ends without a busbar outage.
Safety & Ease of Operation
PIX 2B utilizes a robust metal cubicle con-struction with compartments segregated by earthed metal panels. Each compart-ment incorporates independent pressure relief vents and maintains separation of gas exhaust to avoid the pollution of other compartments.
Ease of Access PIX 2B allows easy access to all main swiching devices, including circuit breaker and both disconnecting switches. It also provides clear visibility of switch positions during operation and quick access for main-tenance.
