Senior Helpers Congratulations to Senior Helpers for the grand opening of their partnership with the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America CARES Office. Senior Helpers is one of eleven offices across the country chosen for this partnership.

Flintlock Flyover A groundbreaking on September 6th was a celebration kick-off for construction of the new Flintlock Flyover to move traffic over I-35 to address several local needs, focusing on improving safety and reducing congestion at key locations in the area.

Southern Platte Pass Trail A September 6th ribbon cutting opened a new trail connection that give pedestrians and cyclists a safe crossing under the I-29 bridge that connects to the Line Creek trail, and provides the first link under the Northland Trails Vision Plan between Platte & Clay counties.

AT&T’s ongoing drive to improve our voice and data network is paying off in strong service performance, including keeping more than 99 percent of all Kansas City-area wireless calls connected. “In Kansas City we have worked hard to keep more than 99 percent of calls on the AT&T network connected—and we’re not stopping there,” said Nancy Garvey, AT&T’s vice president and general manager for the Greater Midwest Region. AT&T has invested more than $850 million from 2008 through 2011 in its Kansas City wireline and wireless networks as part of our drive to deliver the nation’s best mobile Internet experience. We’ve made about 550 network upgrades in the Kansas City area since January 1, 2011, including:

o Activating 6 new cell sites or towers to help improve network coverage.o Deploying faster fiber-optic connections to more than 300 cell sites. Combined with HSPA+ technology, these deployments enable 4G speeds.**o Adding capacity or an extra layer of frequency to cell sites – like adding lanes to a highway – with the addition of more than 200 layers of frequency, or “carriers.”o Launching AT&T’s 4G LTE network, which allows customers to stream, download, upload and game faster than ever before.

“We constantly strive to meet consumer demands for faster, more reliable service, and over the past four years we have invested heavily to ensure the best experience for our customers,” said John Sondag, president of AT&T Missouri. “While consumer demands are driving our need to invest, good policy decisions by our legislature have enabled us to make these investments in new technologies and upgraded service.”

AT&T’s Investment in Kansas City Pays Off in Improved Voice and Data Performance
