The engine that drives the NRA machine is its grassroots sup-

porters; millions of NRA members and Second Amendment activists united in the singular, common cause of protecting and promoting the Second Amendment.

NRA-ILA’s Grassroots Division was established to service you and your fellow Second Amendment vol-unteers by providing a direct link to NRA-ILA for all of your needs. Whether you need materials for an event, talking points to craft a letter to the editor, or training and tips to become an even more effective ac-tivist, NRA-ILA’s Grassroots Division is your place for one-stop-shopping!

Those of us who work in NRA-ILA’s Grassroots Division are fellow activ-ists just like you! We understand that for NRA-ILA to continue to suc-ceed with our mission, we need a grassroots army that is fully educat-ed and empowered with the tools they require to carry our message to our fellow Second Amendment supporters, as well as our elected officials, all across the nation.

I and the entire Grassroots Division look forward to fighting with you in the trenches to protect freedom!

Thank you for your support. Glen A. Caroline, DirectorNRA-ILA Grassroots Division

WELCOME TO THE

FRONTLINES

“Hunt where the ducks are” by utilizing the natural resources of the pro-Second Amendment community! Gun shows, gun shops, gun & hunting clubs, shooting ranges—the places where our supporters tend to congregate— should be our top priority when recruiting and mobilizing volunteers in support of our freedom.Utilize our built-in advantage at these

venues to recruit potential volunteers and encourage action. Work to have a presence at each and every one of these events! Contrast that with our oppo-nents, who don’t have any “gun control shows” or “gun control shops,” and it becomes clear we must leverage this strategic advantage!

NRA-ILA PROGRAMS

NRA-ILA’s FrontLines™ Volunteer program is the premiere grassroots program for supporters wanting to actively assist in promoting and protecting our Second Amendment rights. All FrontLines™ volunteers will have access to the NRA-ILA Grassroots page on the NRA-ILA website which will contain invitations to all local NRA grassroots events, relevant information that is updated on a regular basis, and many additional benefits. To join the FrontLines™ as an active volunteer, please visit our Grassroots Activism Action Center at: http://www.nraila.org/. Or fill out the NRA-ILA Volunteer Information From in this folder.

FRONTLINES™ VOLUNTEER PROGRAM:

NRA-ILA’s Election Volunteer Coordinator (EVC) program consists of a strong network of local activists that serve as liaisons between pro-gun candidates’ campaigns and the pro-gun community. EVCs serve as lead-ers in their own communities to mobilize local networks for political and legislative action. For more infor-mation on the EVC program, or to identify and contact your local EVC, please visit our “Get Involved Locally” section of our website at: http://www.nraila.org/ or call (800) 392-VOTE (8683)

ELECTION VOLUNTEER COORDINATORS (EVCs):

NRA-ILA’s Second Amendment Activist Center program helps build mutually beneficial relationships for pro-gun business owners. These Centers help disseminate important legislative and political materials to patrons on behalf of NRA, and, in turn, receive free advertising and ongoing promotion for their businesses via our website and e-mail alerts. For more information on becoming a Second Amendment Activist Center, please call 800-392-VOTE (8683).

SECOND AMENDMENT ACTIVIST CENTERS:

The NRA-ILA Grassroots Division serves NRA members and Second Amendment activists nationwide to help promote and protect our Second Amendment freedoms through dynamic on-the-ground mobilization campaigns. We provide the most effective methods available to ensure that the message of the pro-gun community reaches our lawmakers and that

all Second Amendment supporters have the necessary tools and opportunities to stay active in support of the Second Amendment—politically and legislatively.

CFR PROGRAM:

In an effort to engage the younger generation in the fight to protect our rights, NRA has introduced NRA University, a training seminar created for college students to educate them on the truth about the Second Amendment, the myths of gun control, and how to become a Second Amendment activist both on-and off-campus. For more information on NRA University, please visit: www.NRAILA.org/NRAU, e-mail [email protected] or call 800-392-VOTE (8683).

During each election season, NRA-ILA deploys Campaign Field Representatives (CFRs) to targeted districts to mobilize pro-gun voters for political action. This true “boots-on-the-ground” grassroots endeavor engages NRA members and Second Amendment supporters with our NRA campaign efforts in their states to ensure victory on Election Day!

President Obama was quoted in a Politico article saying, “They [Second Amendment sup-porters] are better organized, they are better financed, they’ve been at it longer and they make sure to stay focused on this one issue during election time.” This strong reputation NRA and its members have earned is nothing new; for decades, lawmakers and congressio-nal staffers have considered NRA one of the most influential lobbying groups in the country. But what is it that makes NRA a political powerhouse? NRA is successful because of our members and supporters! They are the engine that drives the NRA machine. As former Clinton spokesman George Stephanopoulos said, “Let me make one small vote for the NRA. They’re good citizens. They call their Congressmen. They write. They vote. They contribute. And they get what they want over time.” NRA members and supporters are some of the most passionate and active voters in the nation. They know how important it is to vote for pro-gun, NRA-PVF endorsed candidates; and they not only vote in droves, but actively volunteer for campaigns, and they call, write and email their legislators. We are depending on you to carry on this legacy. The future of the Second Amendment is in your hands! Here is what you can do to help:

Educate • Educate yourself and others using all of NRA’s resources for informationOrganize • Organize a pro-Second Amendment network in your community & host events and meetings• Find like-minded “friends”
