HELLO, WE ARE NOW GO CREATE.

We are a crack team of creativity experts who help companies and individuals bring creative thinking to the workplace. We are expert trainers with top-notch credentials in the fields of training, coaching, creative thinking and facilitation. We have trained thousands of people in companies including Virgin Media, C4, ZSL, Heineken, itsu, ITV (UK & USA) Prêt a Manger (UK & USA), Sony, White Stuff, InterContinental Hotels, Beam Global and HP as well as over fifty leading PR agencies. 100 per cent of people tell us that our courses were relevant to their day-to-day work.

Our training sessions cover everything from the blank page onwards. From how to devise strategy to underpin your creative ideas and idea generation made easy, through to how to pitch your killer ideas once you’ve had them. They are for everyone from CEOs to Account Execs: anyone who wants to be more creative and wants to enjoy the benefits that increased creativity will bring to their business.

WE ARE EXPERTS IN CREATIVITY

We apply the latest academic thinking from our studies into creativity at MA level. We are specialists in the subject area using an academically researched approach to add science and rigour to the creative process. Our starting point is that everyone can be better at creative thinking. We have designed our practical and engaging courses to enable people to do just that.

“BUT I’M JUST NOT VERY CREATIVE. ISN’T CREATIVITY A MATTER OF NATURE VS. NURTURE? CAN YOU REALLY TEACH CREATIVITY?”

These are questions we often hear at the start of our training courses. At Now Go Create we believe that everyone IS creative, and in the same way you might be a morning or afternoon person, or like the big picture versus the detail we all have preferences about how we express our creativity.

Research has shown that innovative companies embrace diversity of thinking and create whole-brained teams. It is not a case of creatives vs. non creatives. We offer individuals and organisations ways to learn new skills and problem-solving techniques as well new behaviours in order to be creative every day. We’ve trained nearly 5,000 people over the past 5 years. We love taking people from an “I’m not creative” mindset to believing they can do it and then watching them fly.

IF A MAN IS JUDGED BY THE COMPANY HE KEEPS, YOU’RE IN THE RIGHT PLACE.

We’ve worked with Virgin Media, HP, C4, ITN, Discovery Channel, ZSL, Heineken, Pret a Manger & Beam Global as well as over 50 leading global and UK PR agencies.

CREATIVE NINJAS (PAGES 6-7)

Our super-popular one-day course that brings out the hidden ideas-creating machine that exists within us all. Over 4,000 people have now been trained in these tools and our feedback tells us that people love this day as they leave with ready-to-use tools they’ve practiced throughout the day. We run this in-house and as an open training.

ASSESS YOUR PROBLEM-SOLVING STYLE – THE VIEW (PAGES 8-9)

The starting point for a lot of our work is a creativity audit for you and your team using a tool specifically designed for problem solving called the VIEW. Find out more on page 9.

For agencies - our hush-hush pitch bitch service is as popular as ever. We’re ‘white-labelled’ in to help agencies come up with killer ideas that will help nail new briefs and wow existing clients. We don’t shout too loudly about this service but our friends out there sleep easier at night knowing they can pick up the bat phone in an emergency and we’ll be there. Inquire (discretely) for details!

If you’d like to know more or to arrange a creative assessment of your business, please contact our Founder and Chief Spark Claire ([email protected]) or Lucy ([email protected]) on 07917 132672 to discuss how we can help.

BRILLIANT BRAINSTORM FACILITATION (PAGES 10-11)

An inspiring one-day course. Teasing out a range of subtle (but deadly powerful) skills that will help transform you into a master facilitator – so that you can bring out the best in everyone. A vital skill that many companies fail to invest in.

CREATIVITY AND LEADERSHIP (PAGES 12-13)

We’ve worked with large agencies to develop 20-strong creativity teams and we’re currently working with a household name brand on a year long programme to up the creative ante for their 60-strong team. For bigger projects plans are bespoke. We work with business leadership to discuss the current culture and challenges and devise a plan to make the skills and behaviours stick for the long-term.

FIVE STEPS TO STRATEGY HEAVEN (SEE PAGES 14-15)

A one-day course designed to help people understand the importance of ‘the big picture’ and show them that strategy is friend, not foe. We will show you how to set up lines of inquiry, how to make the most of insight, how to present a kick-ass case that the whole business believes in and more.

HOW TO SELL YOURSELF AND YOUR BIG IDEAS (PAGES 16-17)

Public speaking and presenting has been named as the number one fear. Become unflappable and unstoppable with this confidence-boosting one-day course aimed. Learn how to ditch PowerPoint and look spontaneous whilst being calm as a cucumber.

This comprehensive training covers everything from persuasive techniques to understanding the needs of your audience and beyond.

4 REASONS TO WORK WITH US

1. We work with big brands and start-ups alike to nurture creative, strategic and pitching skills.

2. We have a unique understanding of the corporate sharp end, combined with academic rigour and hands-on experience.

3. We’re right in the thick of it! Creativity is at the heart of our entire business, and we live, eat and breathe creative thinking. Our expertise is unrivalled and as a result our founder Claire is honoured to be a judge at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity 2014 – the highest accolade in the creative industries. We’ve also judged in the 2013 PR Week Awards, The Sabre Awards and we also train for the PRCA.

4. Our courses always sell out. We like to think we’re London’s best-kept creative secret, but word-of-mouth means that demand for our open courses always exceeds availability.

WHAT WE OFFER

54

86% of companies use group brainstorming as their default method for comingup with new ideas. It’s a valid method – but there are many other, more effective ways to use team time.

DID YOU KNOW?

Page 4: Now Go Create Creativity Training Brochure 2015

3 REASONS WHY THIS WORKSHOP IS SO POPULAR

1. Time is the number one barrier to creativity. Our Creative Ninjas leave knowing how to generate ideas ideas quickly – and we have 10 killer ways to get creative juices flowing quickly.

2. Work in a small team? Stuck in a rut? We will help you generate fresh approaches to familiar problems.

3. Because creative thinking shouldn’t begin and end with group brainstorming sessions. We’ll show you a raft of proven, lesser-known alternatives.

“We’re a fast-moving business and rely on creative ideas to keep our competitive edge. The Creative Ninjas course was the best I’ve ever attended: we got so much great information and as a team we adopted many of the techniques into our creative arsenal.” Eleanor Conroy, Public Relations Director Europe, InterContinental Hotels Group

“It was hugely useful. Very interesting to note that great ideas that seem left field are in fact born out of a structured approach. “Brainstorm” seems too random-a-word now. The techniques we were shown we’re applicable to a diverse set of tasks and versatile making them easily transitioned to any scenario. The delivery was concise and clear without feeling rushed. Thoroughly enjoyed.” 3 Monkeys Communications

HOW TO BECOME A CREATIVE NINJA

1,2 OR 1/2 DAY COURSE

Hands down, our most popular course. With an emphasis on fast results, we enable people to consistently think more creatively, whether they have 10 minutes, an hour, a day or a week. Recent feedback – “Very inspiring”… “100 per cent relevant”… “It was great, and not just for creatives” – was a reminder of just how game changing our Creative Ninja courses can be.

What makes this course such a hit is that we use ‘live’ new business or existing client briefs supplied by you to ensure that you get the most out of the day. Not only do will you walk away feeling like you have unlocked a new skill set, but you’ll leave having nailed – or at least started a new line of thinking on – a tricky creative problem.

Far more than a quick fix, though, our Creative Ninja courses ensure you leave with an understanding of how different issues benefit from different approaches and time scales. During the course you will learn and practice techniques and approaches to overcome a wide spectrum of creative challenges, from “I need an idea right now” to much tougher nuts to crack that will need many weeks of sustained creative thinking.

We’ve trained over 4,000 people including to become Creative Ninjas, including people from Virgin Media, Intercontinental Hotel Group, big pharma and many London and global PR agencies. And we haven’t had a single disappointed client yet!

HOW CREATIVE IS YOUR TEAM? FIND OUT TODAY. To help give you a clear idea of how effective your team’s creative thinking process currently is, we use a powerful, easy-to use assessment tool called VIEW.

High-performing teams know how to appreciate and use the diversity of their team members, and VIEW helps get a handle on individual approaches to creative behaviour, problem-solving, change management and innovation.

Based around a short, self-report questionnaire, it can be used by individuals and teams to help understand strengths and blind spots and encourages both collaboration and productivity. It is based on more than 25 years of research and development and takes just 10-15 minutes to complete.

THE BENEFITS OF THE ANALYSIS ARE:1. To increase self-awareness in relation to creativity

In what ways are you creative? Using VIEW allows you to obtain a deeper understanding and appreciation of your own preferred ways of problem-solving and managing change. It provides implications for leveraging personal strengths.

2. Improved teamwork

VIEW can help identify team strengths and preferences, as well as any Achilles’ heels. Using VIEW allows each member of a team to understand how they might best contribute to a successful outcome.

3. It is non-judgemental.

There are no better or worse, right or wrong styles. Each style has unique strengths and weaknesses; it is the understanding of them so that they can be properly utilised that is important.

Each person receives an individual report that can then be shared with the team or used for personal development. For an assessment of your agency’s creative capabilities, call Claire or Lucy on 07917 132672.

OUR USP IS A SCIENCE-BASED APPROACH - THE VIEW

“VIEW has helped me understand how I approach the creative process and problem solving in general. It also helped me recognise that I may need to alter the way I approach tasks to get the best out of people who work in a different way to me.”

Emma Hazen Deputy MD, Hotwire

THIS IS THE TWO-FACED ROMAN GOD JANUS. ‘Janusian thinking‘ is the ability to hold several opposing views at once. Ideas evolve from different and totally opposing juxtapositions. Interviews with 22 Nobel

Laureates as well as Pulitzer Prize winning writers and other artists found a surprising similarity in their creative processes - they all had this ability.

A simple way to apply this thinking is to write a list of everything that you would expect to do in a given situation. Now reverse it. What ideas does this give you now?

Combine this with our Creative Ninjas training on if you want the full creative Monty!

1 DAY COURSE

Creativity facilitators are the orchestra conductors of team creativity, arguably one of the most vital members of your team. Without them – and the delicate pair of hands they bring to your brainstorming sessions – creativity meetings can quickly collapse. Or go round in circles. Or leave everyone feeling drowned out by the loudest person in the room.

A properly trained creative facilitator will support and enable the group to achieve maximum creative results – and could quickly become your secret weapon. Facilitation is such an important skill and is well within the grasp of so many people, and yet most companies take the ‘let’s just have a meeting’ approach, or pick a random, untrained facilitator, often with disappointing results.

With an understanding of the optimum environment needed to keep participants engaged and in the right frame of mind, a trained facilitator can foster trust and openness, involve everyone, adapt to different personalities and make it fun and OK to take risks. They help ideas to bounce around the room, picking up momentum as they go – and make brainstorming rewarding for everyone.

They also understand that it is completely normal when people disagree or get a little hot under the collar, but a great creativity facilitator knows just how to manage the balance between heated debate that leads to fresh thinking and avoiding all-out war.

We use proven brainstorm facilitation techniques and combine these with our understanding of group dynamics and the psychology behind creativity and innovation. We’ve only learned from the best, studying on the MA Innovation, Creativity & Leadership course at City University with some of the leading experts in the world of creative thinking.

We are running this as an open course on 17th June in central London. Take this workshop along with Creative Ninjas for the full creative monty.

WHAT IS CREATIVITY?

We work with businesses and individuals to develop creative leadership skills. The charge for creativity must come from the top of the organisation and we work at executive level to tailor bespoke programmes to create and foster a creative culture. There are so many factors at play that this work is always tailored to the needs of the business we are working with.

We run leadership programmes focused on delivering creative excellence. We’re currently working with the Creative Directors at several London agencies to develop

their skills and lead changes working with their boards and HR teams. We’re creating a toolkit to roll out into a 80-strong business and running a year-long programme for a 60-strong in-house team involving the VIEW, Creative ninjas, Brainstorm facilitation and building an internal team to drive creative change within their world-famous business. We always start with a creativity audit to assess where you are and work together to get you there.

FIVE STEPS TO STRATEGY HEAVEN

1 DAY COURSE

Though it’s a word many of us hear every day, “strategy” has the power to intimidate, confuse and utterly derail even the best ideas – when in reality it can be broken down into a series of manageable stages. It’s another one of those skills that is often left to chance, with people rising through the ranks into management expected to absorb how to do it by osmosis.

We devised this course following demand from our clients, which dovetailed with our own observations that, whilst it’s tempting to dive straight into creative work, ideas just won’t stack up without rigorous thinking and interrogation of the problem. Five Steps To Strategy Heaven helps illustrate the ‘big picture’, and is a brilliant precursor to our Creative Ninjas course (see pages 6-7).

Where possible we use ‘live’ new business or existing client briefs to ensure you get the most of out of your time commitment and are able to use the techniques in context. This training can be tailored to meet your needs and incorporate your own approach to insights.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

• An understanding of strategy and how to devise it

• How to interrogate a brief and a problem

• How to set up lines of enquiry – what questions to ask, what’s the big picture, who do you want to talk to and what exactly do you want them to do?

• How to use insight and sell it. We look at sources of insight, how to sift through information and work out what’s useful

• ‘Tell me something I don’t know’ – ways to demonstrate an understanding of the insight and the problem

• How to justify and sell your strategy. There is no right or wrong answer when it comes to responding to a brief: what matters is presenting a rigorously researched case that you believe in!

Course info: we run this course in-house, and it can be tailored to your team’s unique requirements.

No amount of creative ideas will make up for lack of strategy. “When it comes to strategy, it’s amazing how often people are just expected to pick it up,” says Claire Bridges, co-founder of Now Go Create. “Strategy is one of the most-overused and abused words that can terrify people. But there are some easy to apply tools to demystify the process and make it so much simpler.”

1514

AT A GLANCE

Name of course: 5 Steps To Strategy Heaven

Who is it for: we recommend this course as the perfect precursor to our Creative Ninjas course, but it’s also ideal for experienced creatives who want to revisit their approach to strategy.

Duration: 1 day, in-house.

By the end: Your day-to-day approach to pitches will be transformed thanks to a newfound appreciation of the big picture. A wealth of easy-to-follow ‘rules’ discussed during the day will help you turn ideas into wins.

FEEDBACK

“Developing PR strategy is a core part of the job as you rise up the management ranks and great strategy is at the heart of all good campaigns. We worked with Now Go Create to develop the team’s skills in this area with impressive results. The team loved the practical, hands-on nature of the course: getting stuck into a live agency business challenge meant that no time was wasted and the outcomes of the day were immediately applicable to our client work. Our team of ADs and Associates universally loved it with one even saying it was the best course they’d ever been on! It has helped to harness great agency thinking and sharpen insight from the minute the training finished.”

PITCH BITCH

SPECIAL SERVICE – ON DEMAND

Second place sucks. Using a similar scientific formula to the one that spawned both the Large Hadron Collider and Lyndsay Lohan, we’ve calculated that the average pitch costs an agency at least thousands in billable time.

That’s fine if you win, but lose and you might as well have taken the team to the Maldives for 10 days and bought them each a dolphin. Our mission is to help you win new business and retain existing accounts whilst ensuring that your core team is creatively refreshed – and that they neatly sidestep that most dreaded pitfall of them all: burnout.

The Now Go Create Pitch Bitch service offers everything from generating killer ideas to facilitating brainstorms, creating presentations to your spec to rehearsals with your presentation team. Think of it as a covert emergency service, a kind of roadside assistance for agencies who are grown up enough to understand that there’s nothing wrong with getting some outside help in sometimes.

We understand agency and in-house business challenges well, with nearly 40 years at the sharp end between us delivering ideas day in, day out. Led by a creative team with experience at the likes of Cake, Cohn & Wolfe, Hill & Knowlton, JCPR and Ketchum at MD and Creative Director level, we’ve worked across Consumer, Corporate and Healthcare on everything from Starbucks to Ford to Cervarix.

Pitch Bitch was set up because we knew that no matter how good a business is, there will always be blind spots, resource issues or creative burnout at some time. We feel your pain. Pitch bitch can plug the gaps, keep your clients happy and win you new business. If you need us, pick up the bat phone and get dialling. It will be our little secret.

WHAT THE SERVICE INCLUDES

• Brainstorming sessions with your team to get you thinking in a new way about a specific brief

• Generating new ideas (in a hurry) to complement and inspire your own

• Creating presentations on your behalf

• Hands-on coaching of your presentation team

• Developing new strategy

• We can even write a whole darn presentation to your spec!

• We provide creativity tools that you can use today, next week, and next year, as well as the self-belief and creative confidence that enables your people to really step up creatively.

• Our courses are deliberately trimmed of any fat – they are designed to move you rapidly through a new set of skills and wherever possible, we use live business challenges from your own company. In many instances, subsequent wins have more than paid for the cost of the training.

We’d love to talk to you about how we could help your team become more creative – call us on 07917 132672 to get the ball rolling.

Which Now Go Create courses are open to individuals?

At the moment, only our Creative Ninjas and Brilliant Brainstorm Facilitation courses are held on an open basis. Our other courses tend to work better in an office environment, where the use of live briefs often makes sense (you might not be quite so keen to reveal your latest briefs and ideas on an open course!). But do try us – we are flexible.

Claire also trains for the PRCA who run webinars and half day Unleash Your Inner Creative Courses – see our website for more info and dates.

Where and when are these open courses held?

16th and 17th June 2015 and October (date tbd)

How many people attend a typical course?

An open course typically has a ceiling of 20 delegates or less. In-house courses can be tailored to suit the team.

Is there a minimum number of delegates required for an in-house course?

We usually work with a minimum of 4 although we do also offer coaching for individuals.

We’re a tiny team – what can we do?

Give us a call! As well as our open courses, it might be possible to hook you up with another small team.

What does it cost?

Open courses typically cost £295 + VAT per delegate. The per-person cost of in-house training is typically lower depending on the size of the group. Please contact us for full costs.

Do you have more information on individual courses?

Absolutely. If you like the sound of any of our courses, please contact us and we can send more detailed information.

Will I like it?

We think so! Our feedback is extremely positive and our goal is to make the day as interesting, useful, upbeat and rewarding as we can.

FEEDBACK

“I was so inspired by ‘How to be a Creative Ninja’ that we set up workshops for the whole agency. It is brilliant at demystifying the idea that ‘creativity’ is some kind of dark art or innate talent only possessed by few. The training session was lively, engaging and, most importantly gave us practical tools that are proven to stimulate creativity and the confidence to believe that we can all be creative. What’s more, because the tools and techniques Now Go Create gave us are simple and fun we are using them for creative sessions 2 years later.”

“It was great, not just for creatives!”

1. Consider what the late Steve Jobs did when the original Pixar HQ was being designed. He had a central hub with the meeting rooms, toilets and kitchen in the middle of the building to encourage ‘chance’ collaboration. Jobs famously said that creativity was just “connecting things” and that idea extends to people too.

2. Set up a black or whiteboards in the office, ideally somewhere accessible like the kitchen. If you have a big creative challenge post it there and ask everyone to share ideas and participate. You’re subtly signalling to the team that ideas are important, and that they can come from anywhere.

3. For structured sessions, let people know in advance what the topic will be. The old adage “fail to prepare, prepare to fail” rings true – you can’t just expect to walk into a room and have the answer.

4. Get people in a good state to create and in the right frame of mind. Use warm-ups to change the dynamic or brainstorm something unrelated for five minutes to get things started.

5. To keep sessions lively and interesting, learn some simple techniques such as stepping into someone else’s shoes – what would a Hobbit or Lady Ga Ga do with your problem?

Everyone on your team is capable of bringing game-changing creative thinking into your office: we can help them unlock it and find their voice. Call us now on 07917 132672 or email [email protected] or [email protected] to find out how we can help.
