December 1, 2011 SW 14 COACH OF THE YEAR Drake Zortman, Messmer/Shorewood Zortman only landed the job in late June but hit the ground running, establishing a leadership council among the team’s seniors and getting them to believe that they could be winners, which was a tall order in a program that has had a revolving door of coaches and little tradition of excellence in the last 20 years. ALL-PURPOSE Tray Palmer, 6-2, 173, Brown Deer junior All-Woodland Blue choice named honor- able-mention All State by WFCA. … posted 40 solo tackles and eight interceptions on defense, with nine knockdowns, a forced fumble and two recovered fumbles. … made 37 catches on offense for 615 yards (16.6 per catch) with 10 touchdowns.
