17 countries will take part at the 13th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in Sofia (Bulgaria), on November 21st at 19:30 CET live from the biggest indoor arena in the country, Arena Armeec, which can accommodate up to approximately 13.000 spectators, but due to restrictions 7.000 will enjoy the show inside. Such as last year’s edition, the EBU decided to name the whole country as the host of the contest, instead of just being the capital city itself, Sofia.

Well-known singer Poli Genova, who represented Bulgaria at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, will take the role of hosting the show on the 21st of November.

Thanks to the huge effort made by the three main pillars of the contest, Vladislav, Kath & Luke, it has been possible to the rise the number of participating countries up to 17, one more than last year’s edition, having Australia and Ireland debuting and Albania and F.Y.R. Macedonia returning, but sadly the withdrawals of Sweden and Cyprus.

Second and third place-prizes will be kept on being awarded at the following Winner’s Press Conference right after the show. Points from 1-7 will be shown on the screen and the spokespeople will read out the maximum numbers, from 8 to 12, so we are counting 18 voting times (the countries + the kids jury) and all the countries will tsart with 12 points awarded by the organization.

Host 2015:

Poli Genova (Sofia, February 10th 1987) will be in charge of hosting the show this year.

Poli has not much experience when it comes to presenting TV Shows but it is a developed singer who started her career in 1991, performing in numerous contests with only being 4 years old. She eventually got graduated from ‘’Ljubomir Pipkov’’ music school, taking care of her skills at playing violin. Poli is currently studying to become a ‘’Film Director’’.

She is well-known to the fans because he previously tried to represent the country at Eurovision, by entering the Bulgarian finals in 2005 and 2006 with her band ‘’Melody’’, but finally got the right in 2011 with ‘’Na Inat’’, when the contest took place in Düsseldorf. Unfortunately, she did not go through the semifinal despite being one of the fan-favourites.

Stage 2015:

The stage marks an after and before when it comes to its size. BNT is presenting the biggest stage that has ever been used in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest to date.

During the HoD's meetings, lots of technical details have trascended:

• BNT and EBU have found many young artists to design the three trophies and costumes, plus 200 dancers and artists that will go on stage during the show.

• All press conferences will be streamed live online and you will be given the chance to ask questions on Twitter.

• There will be cabins for traslations to English, Bulgarian and Russian language at the Press Conference room.

• Among the facilites in the press centre, we can learn that some laptops, internet connection, screens for rehearsals, pigeon-holes, pens, paper, free water and hot drinks will be served.

This year's Press Centre will be located inside the arena and it also will count with some pop-ups to do one-to-one interviews. It is going to be located in another floor due to the sound of the crowd at Press Centre that could disturb.

Slogan:

This year's motto for the contest is known as #Discover, the logo itself shows a s a technological flower based on the idea of a dandelion being blown surrounded by an atom.

Biography: Mishela Rapo was born on 15 December 2000 in Tirana, Albania. Her music career has started when she was only 8 years old when she competed for the first time at the "National Festival of Children in Shkodër" with the song "Jemi një, s'jemi dy" and won the prize for the "Best Debutation". It was the first time for her to sing in a stage like that and it was succesful. After this she was a part of a Talent-show in Albania, "Gjeniu i vogel 4", where she sang live for 12 nights until the Final, and then she started studying at the National School of Music for Guitar. She has won the Second Prize for playing Guitar at the "Tirana Talent". Some time later she won the First Prize to represent Albania at the "10.Turkish Olympiad" among 135 other countries. She held many concerts in some of the biggest cities of Turkey such as Istanbul, Ankara, and Van. After the Olympiad she was a part of the "National Festival of Children" for the second time, and she won the First Prize singing "Pse u mërzit mami". In 2012, she attempted to represent Albania in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2012 with the song "Mama Mia (Te Amo)", but did not win. Beside these competitions, Mishela sang in some other events too, such as the Musical "We will rock you" , and the "100 vjet muzikë" where she got invited two times. In 2013, she was a part of "The National Festival of Children" for the third time, when she won the Prize "Inva Mula" for a great career in Festivals with the song "Kam një ëndërr". In 2014 she attended "The First International Festival of Language and Culture" in Albania and in 2015 the Second one. In 2015 she got selected to represent Albania in Australia at the "International Festival of Language and Culture" among 18 countries such as Brazil, South Africa, Bulgaria, USA, Romania, Thailand etc. In May she won the "51. National Festival of Tirana", so on 21. Michael Varosyan studies in the 7th form at school number 130 after Nairi Zaryan. Michael starred in the film directed by Armen Ronov, he duplicated and dubbed several cartoons and films. In 2014 he made his first steps in the television sphere and since then he has been hosting the children program “Puzzle”. Michael has previously tried to represent Armenia at Junior Eurovision three years in a row. He competed at the Armenian national selection for Junior Eurovision as part of the group "Compass Band" but he couldn't fly to Amsterdam because he was only 9, which is the minimum age to compete. A year later, he came 2nd at the Armenian final with the song "Happy Day" and the last year he tried again with the song "Kids Message". This young Armenian star is fond of Michael Jackson's and Bruno Mars's songs, but he has released other artists' covers like the Eurovision 2015 winning entry "Heroes". Her family are her biggest inspirations having an older sister who is also a singer, a brother who plays football in the Youth League for Melbourne City Football Club, and an amazing stylist and number 1 supporter in her mum. Bella and her family have been watching Eurovision for many years on SBS, and is looking forward to feeling closer to her Macedonian heritage when she performs in Bulgaria. Bella’s ambition is to be an international musical recording and live performance artist, and says her biggest musical role models are Beyoncé, Rihanna, Jessie J, Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Hudson. Biography: Ruslan Aslanov is a 13-year-old singer and saxophonist from Minsk region. Thanks to the wisdom of his grandmother, Ruslan has had lots of success singing and performing. Biography: Gabriela Yordanova (Gabi) was born in Rousse (Bulgaria) and she has taken part in various national and international competitions earning more than 50 prizes in different categories as singer and violinist. Her singing passion started when she was only three and a half. At the age of four she took part in her first International Competition for young performers, “RechniNoti”(River Notes), where she won first prize - from there she has gone on to have much success! Aged four Gabi asked to take up violin at Prof. Vesselin Stoyanov's Ruse National School of Arts, closing the violin herself. Initially she wanted to play the cello to be like her brother, but wasn't able to due to her it being too big for her to use at he young age! A year later Gabi took up swimming, again following her brother who was already part of the Bulgarian national team. She continued to swim until very recently at the Iris Swimming Club in her home town. Gabi has been on stage for eight years, taking part in many competitions in Bulgaria and abroad in places such as Kazakhstan, Russia, Hungary, Romania, Belarus, Italy. Since the age of eight she has been singing at “Milka Stoeva” Burgas with vocal pedagogy teacher Marieta Seklemova. Composer Plamen Mirchev-Mirona has been her vocal pedagogy teacher for the last 18 months. Gabi has performed with many Bulgarian pop music stars including Neli Rangelova, Orlin Goranov, Kamelia Todorova, Kamelia Voce, Ani Varbanova, and Petia Buiuklieva to name but a few. In 2014 she shared the stage with Lili Ivanova, the Prima of Bulgarian Pop Music at the Bulgarian concert which was part of the “Slavyanski Bazar” (Slavic Bazar) Festival .Gabi has also performed with the Big Band of the Bulgarian National Radio as well as the Rousse Jazz Syndicate and group “Acapella”. In the spring of last year she took part in the UNICEF and UNESCO Charity Concert “Balkan Bridges Speak” at the invitation of Irina Bokova – Director General of UNESCO. The performance was in Albania with representatives from all Balkan countries, with the goal of the project being under the motto “Where Politics is Helpless, Art Helps.” When she's not singing, Gabi loves to draw and to dance. Gabriela Yordanova will be supported on stage by 12-year-old Ivan Stoyanov, who came second at national final. Biography: Ivana Petkovska was born on 14 April 2002 in Skopje, Macedonia. She is an 8th grade pupil at the primary school Dimitar Makedonski. She made her first steps in music when she was only 5, performing at the Potochinja children’s festival. After three years she joined KUD Nikola Jonkov Vapcarov, a Macedonian national folklore ensemble, taking part in several performances in the country and abroad. In addition to dancing, she has also sung Macedonian folk songs at a large number of concerts throughout Macedonia. Ivana is also a member of her school choir. "During the audition I had a sore throat and I was very nervous. It was a really big thing in my life, and opening a door to my talent. My only wish is to perform well and show my talent before the wider European audience. I decided to take part in this contest because my dream is to be a good singer. My inspiration comes from my mum and my aunty (her sister), and everything around me. I am also inspired by the popular Macedonian singer, Toshe Proeski. To my fans I send big kisses and warm greetings from Macedonia! Magdalena and I will do our best in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 and try to be in the top 5. Junior Eurovision Song Contest means a lot, new friendships and it's the best contest in the world!" says Ivana. Magdalena Aleksovska was born on 24 January 2002 in Skopje, Macedonia. She is a 9th grade primary school pupil. She is a sixth grade student in the State Music Ballet Centre, Skopje. Magdalena is also a member of the Piccolo children’s choir. Magdalena was a member of the Zlatno Slavejche (Golden Nightingale) children's festival choir from 2009 to 2014. She also plays flute and recorded her first song, Pupil in 2010. She has performed at several international children's festivals (including Istanbul and Belgrade), as well as national and international competitions (including Struga and Prilep, Macedonia). Magdalena’s most significant performance was at the Slavyanskiy Bazar 2013 international children's festival in Vitebsk, Belarus. "I wasn’t really planning to go to the audition. I didn’t know that there was an audition till my dad saw it on the web. My parents asked me if I wanted to try my luck and I said sure, why not. When I got there I sang a song from the greatest Macedonian singer, Toshe Proeski. Some people in the TV crew started crying. I was happy with my performance and was then sure I’d represent my country and I expect we’ll be in the top 5 at the contest. Once the audition was over, I had a feeling that I will not be the sole Macedonian participant in the JESC. I heard all of the kids there, and supposed that Ivana may be going to Sofia as well, if they decided to send a duet. And here we are now both of us getting ready for the big day. My dream has come true for me," says Magdalena. Biography: Elen (Elene Kezhrishvili) turns eleven just before arriving in Bulgaria and has been singing since she was three years old. Now in sixth grade at the Newton Free School, she enjoys swimming, hip hop, dancing and performing at charity events, nursing homes and orphanages. Her dream is to run her own charity foundation someday. Eleven year old Tako (Tako Gagnidze) is also in the sixth grade at ‘Saduni’ school. When she was six she won a modelling contest and was a ‘princess’ for the year. Since then, she’s focussed her time on singing, dancing, drawing, swimming and playing fooball. The ‘oldest’ one in the group, Lizi (Lizi Tavberidze), is twelve and in seventh grade. Lizi enjoys singing, painting, football and skiing and hopes to become a singer and a model when she’s older. Biography: Thirteen-year-old Aimee hails from the small village of Moycullen, in County Galway, the heart of the Gaeltacht (the country’s Irish-speaking region). Aimee was recently awarded first place for the International Vocal Competition “American Protege” and will have the honour of performing in Carnegie Hall on December 19th. This year alone she has secured eight National Titles at Ireland’s prestigious Classical Festival Feis Ceoil 2015 and was also awarded Overall Vocalist Award and Bursary 2015 for Midlands Feis Ceoil in June. This year, their success continued; performing again on Rai 1 and being invited back to New Wave Junior 2015 as special guests. They then won the Italian National Final for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, and are competing with their second single ‘Viva,’ written together with the best-selling artist Gigi D’Alessio. ‘Viva’ is about the dreams of the teens, their first love and new emotions. But it is also the sweet memories of their grandfather, who was the first to #discover their talent. “Remembering our grandad is the verse we like the most,” the twins explain. “It’s only a few words, but it means a lot to both of us and we know that he is still here with us.”

Chiara and Martina hope to do their very best in Bulgaria. “After winning the national final the affection of the people overwhelmed us: it’s like an army of fans that we didn’t expect to have. She has been singing for the past years and is being tutored by IVA Instructor Maria Abdilla; apart from her passion towards singing, Destiny loves acting too. Despite her young age, Destiny has already won several awards in Malta, including the best interpretation award in the ‘Singer Stage International Festival’, and the overall Grand Prix amongst the participants from seven different countries. She also represented Malta in Sanremo for the International Grand Finals in the Ariston Theatre in May 2013, where she triumphed, winning the overall Grand Prix of the 5th edition of this competition. Her music career went from strength to strength in September 2014 when she participated in the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza Junior with her first original track ‘Festa T’Ilwien’, which was written by Emil Calleja Bayliss to Mark Spiteri Lucas’ composition. Here she placed third. Later, Destiny also managed to win the ‘Singer of the Year’ in a competition organized by ErSeb Productions. By virtue of winning the competition, she won the right to represent Malta in FYR of Macedonia in October of 2014. Her participation in the ‘Asterix Original Song Festival’ was another success as she emerged victorious with her original entry ‘Live & Let Live’, once again penned by Emil Calleja Bayliss and composed by Mark Spiteri Lucas. After this experience, another opportunity came knocking on Destiny’s door when she auditioned for ‘Next Generation’ on Sky Italia, after passing the audition stage, Destiny went on to compete in the finals where she managed yet another victory - which allowed her to sing at a concert in Verona! Representing Malta in the Junior Eurovision has always been something Destiny aspired to and wished to do. In July, she was amongst one of the twenty finalists in the Malta Junior Eurovision; once again she managed to triumph amongst some of Malta’s best talents and thus won the right to represent Malta in Sofia. Destiny draws her inspiration from various artists, but Beyonce and Aretha Franklin have triggered the thrill of music in her life. Destiny’s main goal is to make people happy through music and her motto is “never give up in life and always follow your dream no matter the circumstances”. Biography: Jana Mirković is 15 years old, and comes from the capital city of Montenegro, Podgorica. Jana has participated in many children festivals in countries such as Croatia (Essek Fest 2013), Serbia, Russia, Italy, FYR Macedonia (Tra La La 2010), her home country Montenegro, and Bulgaria (Grand Prix 2009, Varna), this year’s Junior Eurovision host country. She plays the piano and the violin, and has also released two albums, and is expecting her third to be out next year. Besides music, Jana is also an experienced model and ballet dancer, and has attended the ballet school “Princeza Ksenija”, and the dancing school “Matriks”. When she's not studying, Jana also attends the UMS Talent School and special classes for TV journalism. Jana has already hosted a children's television show in her home country! In her free time, Jana likes to hang out with her friends and family, and enjoys the beautiful Montenegrin seaside and countryside. She says that she doesn't need much to be happy, only her honest smile, a flower, hearing her favourite songs on the radio or and seeing other people's happiness. Jana enjoys listening to her favourite female artists, Jennifer Lopez and Barbara Streisand. And of course, the victory on the Russian national final for Junior Eurovision 2015 is the most significant success. Mikhail is a very versatile young man. In addition to singing, he acts professionally in musical theater. Jim Hawkins in the play “Treasury Island” is one of his roles. Also Mikhail writes poetry, plays football and is keen on shooting and editing his own mini-videos. Mikhail even has its own channel (blog) on YouTube. Misha is in the 6th grade now. Biography: 11-year old Kamilla Ismailova is a young singer, actress, and TV presenter from Moscow – but music is her true love! Despite being born and raised in Russia, Kamilla will represent the Republic of San Marino in Junior Eurovision 2015 - and this did not come about purely by chance! Kamilla visited San Marino in her early childhood, and since then this small country has taken a place in her heart. The language, the feeling, the people and their pace of life, and the traditions of the country all made a big impression on Kamilla, who promised herself that someday she would be connected with the country again. While she took interest in the culture of San Marino and its history, Kamilla also always dreamed of performing at Junior Eurovision. Having watched the qualifying rounds and the live final, she wondered how children of her age could get to such a "wonderful" content - and then the idea hit her. Why not send a recording of her new song to the television station in San Marino? And so she did, plucking up the courage, Kamilla send the song and crossed her fingers! When the producers contacted her parents and informed them that she was approved by the channel management to represent San Marino at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Kamilla was filled with delight and surprise! From then on, the hard work started - translating the song into Italian, and further learning the language; having vocal lessons and choreography classes; creating ideas for the performance and shooting the video. Her life changed incredibly from that moment on. Aside from Junior Eurovision, Kamilla and her friends from the "S. T. A. R. S" Academy of cinema and show-business host a music chart called "Kids' Top 10 with Yana Rudkovskaya", and also present a fashion/music program called "TrYnd-Fashion". She is also a lover of horses, and enjoys racing with them. Biography: She grew up surrounded by music and the arts; her father sings and plays the trumpet in a local band, and her grandfather was a painter. She made her musical debut at her younger brother’s christening, and hasn’t stopped performing since! She is currently enrolled in fourth grade at a music elementary school, where she is learning the piano as well as perfecting her singing skills. Despite her young age, Lena’s got a powerful voice. Once, while she was practising singing at home, a light bulb shattered right as she belted out a high note. She’s not quite sure whether it was a coincidence or if her voice really did cause a blackout, but it certainly didn’t stop her from practising! Audiences in Serbia got to know Lena through her participation in the talent show “Pinkove zvezdice”, where she ended up in fourth place overall. During the show, she covered songs in a number of genres, including hits by Eurovision alumnae Celine Dion, Bonnie Tyler, and Nina Badrić. She saw her experience on the show as an exceptional opportunity to share her talent with others, but also to have fun and make friends. Lena sees herself as positive and happy, but still very determined. She sets high goals for herself, and doesn’t back down from a challenge, but she approaches those challenges in the same way she would approach a game. She enjoys all sorts of musical genres, and her favorite singers are Celine Dion, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, and Queen. Beyond music, Lena also enjoys drawing, knitting, making crafts, creating hairdos, and acting.

“Lenina pesma”, which simply means “Lena’s Song”, was written by Lena alongside Leontina Vukomanović, who co-wrote “Beauty Never Lies” for Serbia’s 2015 Eurovision representative, Bojana Stamenov, as well as “Lane moje” for Željko Joksimović. The arrangement was coordinated by Dušan Alagić. As a three-year-old girl she gave a big surprise to her parents when she started singing the refrain of the My Humps song by Black Eyed Peas. This was just the start and her teacher in kindergarten also noticed her singing this and many other songs. The teacher thought Lina is really advanced singer for her age. When she was five, she started singing the song I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston, which started her career as a young star. At the start of the elementary school, parents enrolled her to the music class in the school. Lina was enthusiastic about practising solo singing and playing piano. This was the time of her first public appearances on small events, where she was noticed by a young reporter, who invited her to the Dobro jutro, Slovenija programme in May of 2009. In the end of the year 2009 she took part in the Vrata med zvezdami show, a musical competition with children of her age. Despite not winning any of the top three spots, Lina was not disheartened. Her first appearance gave her welcome exposure, which resulted in an invitation to the charity concert for prematurely born children, where she sang the I Will Always Love You song. This appearance even increased her desire to perform before large audiences and at the perfect moment, the Slovenija ima talent (Slovenia's Got Talent) show started looking for new talents. In April of 2010, Lina sang in the Slovenija ima talent show for the first time, enrapturing the audience and the jury. The jury was especially impressed, naming her »Little Princess Lina«. For the audition, she sang "I Will Always Love You" and in the semi-finals "My heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion, confidently reaching the finals. In the final show on 6th June 2010, the »little princess with the voice of an angel« sang "The Power Of Love" by Jennifer Rush in front of the whole of Slovenia, winning the first Slovenija ima talent show. After a few years of living in Switzerland and working on her musical education, Lina entered the music show The Greatest Swiss Talents (Die grössten Schweizer Talente). She was also part of the children musical show "Kinderen Vor Kinderen" 2010/2011. Her next challenge was auditioning for Junior Songfestival in 2014, where she made it to the final auditions. In 2015 she auditioned again and this time she blew everyone away with her power ballad "Million Lights". The jurys and the public gave her final performance the maximum 12 points. Shalisa’s song "Million Lights" tells the story of two people that are in love, but who can’t be together because they live too far away from each other. The only way they can connect is by looking at the stars in the sky: there are a million lights in the sky that can be seen from everywhere in the world. The jury praised Shalisa for her sensitivity in her performance, which is exactly what she wanted to achieve: to touch everyone with her song and lyrics. In the Netherlands, she has already touched everyone - now it’s time to win over the hearts of the rest of Europe. She wishes to become just as good as Katy Perry and Beyoncé in the future, but for now she has got her mind set on the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. She hopes to win the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, just as Dutch singer Ralf Mackenbach did in 2009. Vkontakte: https://vk.com/trincherofficial Biography: Anna’s mother noticed her daughter’s ear for music when she was very little; at the age of only four, she could easily remember melodies and lyrics from unfamiliar songs and mimic them. She started attending music school at the age of nine, first focusing on a traditional Ukrainian lute, the bandura, then transitioning to vocal performance. She soon joined a local choir, where she quickly became a soloist, and the group performed all over Ukraine at a number of social and cultural events. Beyond her involvement with the choir, Anna writes songs of her own, and also plays in a band on the weekends, playing covers of famous hits with her friends. She’s no stranger to musical competition. In the past, Anna has participated in a number of musical competitions and festivals, including the “Nightingale of Ukraine”, the “My Chance” on-line competition, the musical division of the International Turkish Olympiad, Music Academy of Eurovision 2015, “New Wave” 2015, the Ukrainian edition of “The Voice Kids” (mentored by singer Natalia Mogilevska), and the 2014 Junior Eurovision National Final before clinching the ticket to Sofia with her win at this year’s National Final this past August. Anna is very active in school, with a particular interest in Algebra and Geometry, as well as English, because it gives her the chance to communicate with new friends from all over the world. Looking towards her future, Anna’s biggest goal at the moment is to honorably represent Ukraine at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest, but beyond that, she’d love to hold her own solo concert, with an audience full of her friends, family, and fans. Her biggest dream, however, is to perform a duet with Beyoncé. Anna finds support in her family and close friends as she moves forward in her path to become a singer, but it’s her belief in both God and herself that drives her in both her creative work as well as her day-to-day life.
