Truly Seamless LCD Video Walls from Barco

Barco (www.barco.com) takes a completely new approach to truly seamless LCD video walls. Rede-signing and optimizing every component, Barco UniSee is not only a step forward in terms of image quality, but also in installation time, ease-of-servicing, and reliability. Surpassing the traditional LCD video walls on every level and more, Barco UniSee will define the seamless LCD video wall market for many years into the future.

Bezel-less viewing experience, innovative mounting system

NoGap technology, which makes the inter-tile gap barely noticeable, finally makes it possible to spread content over multiple tiles without the interruption of a disturbing bezel. In order to guarantee the smallest possible gap without damaging the panels' edges, Barco has created the UniSee Mount. This revolutionary mounting structure uses the power of gravity to perfectly and automatically align panels – and keep them in place over time. What's more, UniSee Mount also eases setup and maintenance efforts, allowing swift undocking of separate panels.

Automatic real-time calibration for perfect uniformity

Sense X, the automatic, continuous and real-time color and brightness calibration system, ensures that the complete wall gives a perfectly balanced image at all times. What’s more, Barco has also re-engineered the design of the panels to counter all possible variations in brightness from the center to the edges. The result is perfect intra-tile and inter-tile uniformity never seen before on LCDs.

Easy diagnosing and servicing

Because a video wall is often part of a business critical application, Barco took all possible measures to ensure optimal uptime. The platform is built in such a way that it can easily be diagnosed and serviced. The software platform (UniSee Connect) that manages the entire video wall automatically assigns and calibrates the panels, and acts as the single point of connection for remote diagnostics and control.

NOTES FROM LOGAN

The Importance of the Age Old Business Card

Business cards are a small but key ingredient to successful business practices and networking. Exchanging them at all meetings and public events, and inputting them in your customer relations management (CRM) helps one be organized and keeps people in your thought process. It helps too because people move and their contact info changes. Of course one can get this data off a signature page in an email, but will you? Offer your card early in the conversation and request one back (even if the person has to walk back to their desk for one). It’s surprising how many people go to public business events without cards. Do they think they’ll not meet new contacts?

Much can be learned with the manner in which Asian business people handle cards. I am not refer-ring so much to their very respectful formality of handing it to the recipient with both hands with thumbs up and head down respectfully. That could look contrived for a non-Asian person to do. I am simply referring to the idea of HAVING cards with you and actively exchanging them in a business setting.

Much can be gained by having the cards of the people across the table from you in a meeting front of you in the order they’re sitting. Then look at them while conversing – in such a way so as to commit to memory who is who in the room. Memorize their titles – they’ve worked hard to achieve that rank. Think about their names and where you might know them from in a previous job. I am surprised at how many young people don’t recall who they’ve met with. I always say “you and I are one meaning-ful conversation away from both remembering each other”. It’s all about networking - one of the secrets of success is having a wide and deep network of contacts. This requires knowing whom you’re speaking with!
