FARRAGUT BASE ANNUAL THANKSGIVING DINNER

As always we had a great time at

the annual Thanksgiving potluck.

Sue Gambel and Bob Dengel

brought turkeys and Kathleen

Grieb brought, “20 pounds of

mashed potatoes and turkey

gravy.” We had a fine turn out

with two guests. Jerry Anderson

who is a former sub sailor and

his friend Heidi Heller who is the

Chief of Medicine at the Spokane VACM.

The nominating committee submitted the following names: Ron Sil-

ver for Base Commander, Dale Byre for Vice Commander, Jerry

Parker for Seceretary, and Bob Dengel for Treasurer. These nomi-

nees will be voted on and inducted into office at the Dec Meeting.

Woodland Middle School's Veteran Day Program

November 10th, was

Woodland Middle

School's Veteran Day Pro-

gram. Farragut Base was

invited by Ann Ewing to

be Special Guests. Her son is awaiting his start date for Submarine School. Ron Silver, Bob

Dengle, Tom Depew, Jerry Parker, and Dale Byrd attended.

This was a fun event. The Sub Vets sat in the front row of honorees. At the start of the pro-

gram we had a string of about 50 kids in a row, come by to shake our hand and thank us for

our service.

The parking lot at last years Soup-off Contest was a scene of utter chaos. The sponsors of the event knowing

of Farragut Base’s expertise in parking lot management call Chuck Riley for some help. Chuck, in turn, asked

for volunteers and Ron Silver. Duane Sanger, Doug Wolf, and Jay from the Hauser Gun Club stepped for-

ward.

Military Legal Alliance Group

This group will be meeting at Post 143 to assist veterans and others on the last Wednesday of each month.

This is a great opportunity for our veterans and local familes to get free legal advice from lawyers.

They can help with wills, trusts, advanced directives, legal information and other legal issues.

They can assist with family issues, in regard to older folks and diseases, which may require having a power of attorney.

Post 143 is pleased to host this group for our veterans and community. We are trying to make our post a veteran and

community

friendly post. Should you have questions about any particular event at the post please call 208-773-9054.
