t h a n k sFor All You Have Done!
I am taking this opportunity to say Thank You for all
that you have done for the Lord through the Anchorage
Gospel Rescue Mission this last year with your prayers,
financial support, special financial gifts, in-kind gifts and
volunteer help. You have made the difference. You have
made it possible for us to accomplish the things we have this year and to start other
projects to advance and better equip the Learning Center with the things that wereneeded to provide a better education for those in the NewLife Recovery program.
We could only do the things we did because you were a part of it. Again, I thank you
and pray for your continual supportEspecially your prayers.
Well, here it is Thanksgiving season again. Where has the time goneit seems like
each year the time goes by faster and faster (must be a sign that somebody is getting
old). Actually we look forward to the holidays, always with a little anxiety and
apprehension. We try to anticipate how many people we will serve, how much food
it will take or money to sponsor the event and make it a real success. But it is always
at the last minute before we know for sure that everything is in place. But we do not
count success on how many we serve, but by how many we had the opportunityto share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with and how many came to know Him as their
Savior as a result of our personal witnessing.
So, I am again, asking for you to help us with the food for our Thanksgiving
dinner and for your Volunteer Help (opportunities for you to serve are listed
in the Directors Desk page of this newsletter). Many people would be without
a Thanksgiving Dinner if it were not for the Mission providing it. We want to
continue to be the outlet to help people during this season and we need YOU TO
SUPPLY THE MEANS.

Just For YouCount your garden by the flowers,
Never by the leaves that fall;
Count your days by sunny hours,
Not remembering the clouds at all.
Count your nights by stars,
Not shadows;
Count your life with smiles,
Not tears.
And when your life,
Has reached its autumn,
Count your age by friends
Not years.
a day to be thankfulWhat Does It Mean To You?
Are your really thankful for the things God has done foryou for all of the blessings He has given you; are you
even aware that they came from God or do you think you
have done it on your own? Or, are you too busy to just
pause a moment and reflect on what you have and where
you are now. Are you thankful for the little things in life
that you just take for granted? What if all of the blessings
were stoppedbecause you never take time to thank God
for all of the little things He does for you. When you look
at other people that are less fortunate than yourself or see
a person that is homeless, do you stop and say, but for the
grace of God, there go I?
Please take time on this Thanksgiving Day and everyday
to give thanks to God. Let us become a thankful people.
We are thankful for you! Each day at the Mission we count
our blessings as we see how God has touched your heart
and you share with us financially, with in-kind gifts and by
volunteering to help.
God Gives Us MoreThan We DeserveGod gives us more than we deserve
And yet we still complain.
We may frolic in the sunshine
But we scoff at the rain.
We take for granted many things
We have so much you see,
That we forget how blessed we are
Because we are free.
We waste enough to feed the world
For what is poverty
To those who eat three meals a day
And live in luxury?
God give us more that we deserve
Enough that we should share
With those less fortunate than we
Who need someone to care.

Book Your Travel Through The Rescue
Missions Travel Page
The Anchorage Gospel Rescue Mission has teamed up
with YTB, an acronym for Your Travel Biz, in order
to offer our faithful donors the opportunity to help the
Mission anytime they travel. The Mission has becomeReferring Travel Agents (RTAs) with the YTB Travel
Network. What this means is the Mission now has a
personalized worldwide travel web page. We refer
our donors who want to travel & vacation, to visit
this web site. When you book travel on our site, the
Mission receives as much as 15% of the commissions
generated. We believe YTB offers completive pricing
and superior customer service. This will also give us
the opportunity to offer group travel packages and all
the residual services such as discount car rental, hotel,
and restaurant discounts.
The Anchorage Gospel Rescue Mission encourages
anyone who visits our web page to shop around for the
best deals. If you book on-line visit all the available
travel sites to ensure you are getting the most bang
for your buck. If you feel we offer the best price you
receive personal satisfaction in knowing a portion goes
to feeding and sheltering the homeless men, women,
and children in Anchorage.
We would ask that you keep in mind we have no controlover your personal experiences during vacation. In
other words if you are dissatisfied with the service you
receive on a Carnival Cruse Ship we have absolutely
no influence or control over Carnival Cruse Lines and
therefore cant be held responsible. This is not unique
to the Rescue Mission because no on-line company
can guarantee the quality provided by independent
companies. We do feel the reputations of established
companies speak for themselves not to mention they
have a vested interest in their clients satisfaction.
YTB CEO
Kim Sorenson
Speaks Out
Dear YTB RTAs, shareholders and friends:
It is important to understand that YTB
in no way attempts to compete with high
touch, high service professional travel
agents. YTB is competing for the 80 million
travelers who have chosen the Internet
as their travel agent. Professionals can
and do command $20-$100 service fees
for an airline ticket; YTB charges $5. Our
Referring Travel Agents (RTAs) simply
refer their family, friends, neighbors and
associates to their travel website, giving
them the option of booking with someone
they know instead of the faceless Internet.
Orbitz and Expedia refer customers to
their websites through advertising and YTB
refers through relationships. We have gone
a long way toward solving the customerloyalty problem experienced by most online
agencies.
Kim is addressing a lot of the things being
said about YTB in this press release I came
across just minutes ago. He speaks out
about YTB goals, training and more.

Hes There
The storms of life will gatherAnd the bitter winds assail,
Yet beyond the depths ofAnguish,
Is a love that cannot fail.
Its a love thats always with usThough at times it seems obscure,
But there never isDesertion
In a love so true and pure.
When at times you feel desertedAnd you seem to walk alone,
Try to picture God inGlory,
Seated on the mercy throne.
Try to picture Christ at CalvaryAs He hung upon the tree,
And how lonely, when HeCried Out,Why has Thou forsaken Me?
Yes, our Lord once had the feelingThat He, too was all alone,
Yet, God proved that He wasPresent,
Sitting on the mercy throne.

loved one, giving a memorial gift to the Anchorage
Gospel Rescue Mission in the name of that person is
a very personal, lasting expression of your love. Your
thoughtful remembrance can have eternal value when
invested in the lives of people.
