It will allow you to experience God as your Provider. One of the most amazing things about learning to faithfully give to the Lord is the joy you will experience when you see God provide for you in creative ways that show His love for you as your Heavenly Father. Help FBC Meet Its Budget

We appreciate your faithful giving to FBC and its ministries.

God is doing many good things at our church. Pray for the economy in America.

We need $24,340.00 each week to meet our budget.

Worship Service Tech Workers Needed

Due to moves and health issues we are losing three of our Worship Service Tech Workers in the next month. We are in serious need of new Tech Workers to run our Sound, Lighting, Media and Camera Stations for all three morning services, as well as our evening service. If you have a desire to serve our Lord Jesus in these areas, we need you greatly. Our worship services cannot happen without dedicated volunteers to serve these vital tech positions. We will train you on whichever tech station you would like to serve. Please contact Pastor Roger Ball at 602-402-5309 or email him at [email protected] or Julie Huver at [email protected].

Faith Promise Update

Our weekly giving need for Faith Promise is $1,022.00.

Our need since January 1 is $44,968.00

Thank you for being faithful to God’s Word through Faith Promise Giving! Faith Promise is money you give to help our missionaries.

If we do not receive $4,426.00 each month, all of our Faith Promise missionaries like Mark Burritt,

Steve and Darlene Evers, Bob and Elena Gonzalez and Steve and Patty Robenalt will not receive

their “full” monthly support from us. Your faithfulness helps our missionaries spread the love of Jesus around the world!

Would you consider giving to Faith Promise to help us meet our financial commitment to our missionaries. Make your checks payable to FBC earmarked “Faith Promise.

Angel Tree

The Angel Tree program is alive and well and coming soon to FBC. On Sundays, November 17, November 24 and December 1, there will be a Christmas tree in

the foyer with hanging paper angels representing children of incarcerated parents. Each of our 52

children will get a clothing gift and a fun gift. All you have to do is choose one or more angels, purchase a $25.00 gift for each angel and return it to the Church no later than Sunday, December 8. This act of kindness will put a smile on a child’s face and hopefully impact him or her for years. Please pray that this very important program will bless many unfortunate children.

Team Leaders Needed in Skylight Café

If you are looking to get involved in a ministry then Skylight Café may be the place for you! This is a great place to meet

and greet individuals and families coming to the Café, whether as first time visitors or as FBC family, and begin building lasting relationships while serving God and His people.

We are looking for individuals or couples who would like to join the Skylight Café team. We are in need of people who would be willing and available to run the Café for a month at a time. Along with the normal operational duties, you would need to be able to pick-up the bagels and doughnuts on Sunday mornings before opening the Café.

If interested or if you would like more information, please contact Tammy Morrissey at [email protected] or at 480-861-2629 or you can contact Scott Morrissey at 480-861-6028.

Sunday Lunch in the MAC and Sunday Dinner in the Quad

Your donations at the Food Line and in the “Wood Boxes” help greatly to cover the cost of the meal.

Introducing Bertha Lopez FBC-Tempe’s Newest LIT (Leader-in-Training)

Bertha Maygualida Lopez was born in Zacatecas, Mexico. Her family migrated from Mexico to the U.S. in the late 70’s. She was raised by a God loving and caring mother, Sofia. Bertha’s father passed when she was just two leaving her mother to raise ten children by herself. Bertha was introduced to Jesus Christ when she was

ten or eleven years old. Bertha learned to serve in the church from her mother who actively served in the church and the community. Bertha was raised to love the Lord and to serve others.

After seeing her first child and how perfectly God had made him, Bertha began walking closer to God. Bertha began serving in many ministries: children’s ministry, welcome team, setting up and tearing down ministry with the mobile industries, leading women (Spanish speaking class), feeding the homeless, missions trips, Stephen’s Ministry, bread ministry and elderly ministries.

While parenting four beautiful children (Ashley Eugene, Audrey Nicole, Pierre Isaiah and Amahya Jayleen) Bertha obtained her Bachelors in Criminal Justice. After her divorce in 2001 she moved to AZ and worked for the Maricopa County Superior Court as an electronic monitoring probation officer. During this difficult time the church became her sanctuary. She opened her home to runaway teens. Bertha provided shelter, food, love and guidance in job search skills and job leads. They in turn were required to hold a job, be active servants at church and follow rules. She has served in many churches in many roles.

Bertha’s vivacious and contagious personality is a positive for her ministries at FBC-Tempe. She is active in the new Women’s Sunday Bible class Come to the Table, Kid’s City, greeting everyone who walks by her, Compassion Days, Walk to Bethlehem and integrating women into our FBC family.

Greet Bertha and let her know if you would like help connecting with others in the FBC family.

Meet Hunter, Andrea, Jeremy and Joshua Combs

Join with us on Sunday evening, November 24, at 6:00 pm here at FBC to meet Hunter, Andrea, Jeremy and

Joshua Combs, as they share about the ministry the Lord has allowed them to be part of for the last 20 months to Muslims in Africa. They will share about the opportunities they have had to do street evangelism and visit mosques in order to share the Gospel. They also have witnessed to students from Saudi Arabia and Yemen. An even more effective and fruitful ministry has been there regular door-to-door ministry. Through these methods of witnessing they have been able to develop friendships in which they can continue to share the Gospel.

Let's Help This Thanksgiving and Christmas … FBC Families Need

Help!

There are a number of families in our church who face "monthly painful challenges." Hardship has become a

way of life for these families. But all of these families serve God with a smile among us. They work hard. They purpose to pay their bills on time. Lazy, no. No scams here. But no savings. Some families are younger. Some are older. Red, yellow, black and white and they all need some help at Christmas. Some families struggle every month to make medical payments on major medical expenses. Some families work part-time as they constantly look for full-time employment. From big families to families of one. Some face the loss of their rental home and some contemplate being homeless. Some live paycheck to paycheck on part-time wages. Some walk or ride the bus. Some families have one car. Some have no insurance.

We would like to help 20 low income families in our church with some extra money at Thanksgiving or at Christmas. If you know of a family who is facing some special needs, please contact Pastor and give him your recommendation.

Starting now and until Christmas, please give a check marked "Thanks Jesus." Pray and give. The last opportunity to give to this is at our three Christmas Eve Services on Tuesday, December 24, at 4:00, 6:00 and 8:00 pm.

Counting Your Blessings

It is so easy for us to be focused on the negatives and forget all about the positives. Recently a good bit of my jewelry was stolen from a hotel room. Obviously that did not make me happy, and I was doing everything possible to try to find it. The local police came to take my report, and the hotel security people were doing all they knew to help me. They kept apologizing to me, but I said to them, “Well, it is just jewelry. I have not been notified that any of my family is sick or has a problem; I still have good health. This will not change my life in any significant way, I have so much to be thankful for that I refuse to let this unfortunate incident get to me.”

Have you learned to stop and count your blessings in the middle of a bad day? It is such a good way to get your perspective back.

“Righteous Anger of Jesus”

November 10, 2019 Al Fadi

Do you get angry? Is it a good or bad emotion to get angry? When should we get angry? How should we behave when angry? Who should I direct my anger toward? All of these question often times will consume us before, during, or after an episode of anger. However, the most important question we must ask is “What does the scripture teach about anger”? And what is considered a “Righteous Anger”? John 2:12 - After this he went down to Capernaum, with his mother and his brothers and his disciples, and they stayed there for a few days. (13) The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. (14) In the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers sitting there. (15) And making a whip of cords, he drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and oxen. And he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. (16) And he told those who sold the pigeons, “Take these things away; do not make my Father's house a house of trade.” (17) His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will consume me.” EXPOSITION John 2:16 - “Take these things away; do not make my Father's house a house of trade.”
