Lord, this is the people that
longs to see your face.
"14
if my people who are called by my name
humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their
land. 15
Now my eyes will be open and my ears at-tentive to the prayer that
is made in this place." 2 Chronicles 7:14-15
In an effort to maintain a safe and sanitized environment for all of our guests, we at Holy Cross are continuing to evaluate and modify safety guidelines as necessary. We have decided to return to our regular method of distributing Holy Communion beginning this weekend, October 31st—November 1st. The deacons and EMHCs will be standing at the top of the aisles as before. There is one change and it will pertain to those sitting in the pews along the sides of the church. For you folks, please exit your pew so that you are walking up to receive Communion in the aisle that is along the wall. Once you receive Communion please re-secure your mask, and return down the middle aisles. By doing this everyone will be moving in the same direction. We remind everyone of the importance of keeping a 6’ - 8’ separation as you exit and return to your pew. We appreciate your cooperation as we continue our efforts to maintain our House of Worship. Your Liturgy Team
Men go abroad to wonder
at the heights of mountains,
at the huge waves of the sea,
at the long courses of the rivers,
at the vast compass of the ocean,
at the circular motions of the stars,
and they pass by themselves
without wondering.

A song you might listen to this weekend, as we celebrate the
Solemnity of All Saints, is
'By All Your Saints Still Striving.'
The tune was written in the 17th century by German composer
Melchior Teschner. He wrote several hymn melodies, but this is
arguably his most well-known tune. In our hymnals, the way that
the text is structured allows for several alternate options to be
substituted in place of the second verse. Each alternate verse
focuses on the life and attributes of a particular saint -
St. Joseph, St. John, St. Matthew, St. Peter, to name a few.
These verses are intended to be sung on their respective feast
days. Cecilia
Pray, Ponder and Peace, from our Pastoral Minister Theresa McLaury
Every year we have had the opportunity to deliver spaghetti dinners to our home-
bound who were not able to attend our Hospitality Dinner. This year with the
pandemic many more of you are staying home. If you would like us to deliver
a Spaghetti dinner to you on November 15th, please
call me at 402-208-5249.
Now thank we all our God,
With heart and hands and voices, Who wondrous
things has done, in whom His world rejoices.
