Data Analysis Presentation
Florida Panthers Organization
Pictured above are Brian MacDonald, Director of Hockey
Analytics for the Florida Panthers and NSU graduate Justin
Cohen. Dr. MacDonald is a former math professor at West
Point and this will be his third season with the Panthers.
He presented an analysis for variable ticket pricing using
various predictors. The results helped the team come up
with 3 tiers of pricing for various NHL opponents. He
helps analyze data on both the business and hockey sides of
the team. The event was well-attended and thanks to Dr.
Gershman of the Math Department for inviting Sport and
Recreation Management to the event which is part of the
Mathematics Colloquium Series.
Pictured to the left is Jason Swafford who
is a new SPT student. He attended the
event and found it meaningful. Take ad-
vantage of the many opportunities offered
on the NSU campus!
