CAIE Trip to Naina Devi, Anandpur Sahib and Virasat-e-Khalsa

A trip was organized for the CAIE (Cambridge Assessment International Education) students of Cambridge International School, Phagwara on 24th of Nov 2018. It was a thorough learning trip along with being educational, spiritual and thrilling. The first destination being Naina Devi Temple in Himachal, the students were given a taste of long trekking, testing their climbing fortitudes, and completing their climb with serene beholding of the goddess. The feeling was rewarding and gratifying. Taking the ropeway down the high altitude temple, the children enjoyed the breath taking view of the beautiful snow covered Himalayas. The troupe then advanced towards Gurudwara Anandpur Sahib, located on the edge of Shivalik Hills, near Sutlej River. The serenity of the place was strongly felt and absorbed, being the place where the last two Sikh Gurus lived and where Guru Gobind Singh Ji founded the Khalsa Panth in 1699. The visit would have been incomplete without the blissful kirtan and heavenly Guru’s Langar. Consequentially, Virasat-e-Khalsa, a museum of Sikhism, located in the holy town, Anandpur Sahib, extended a taste of history with a panoramic view of Indian Heritage. The museum depicts the profound stories and sacrifices of ten Sikh Gurus, engulfed in the exuberant architecture, paintings, and sculpture. The clusters of galleries try to evoke the fortress architecture of the region and the students prudently absorbed the values and lessons that they had to preach. The trip left the students yearning for more, and promising themselves to visit the places again. The journey to visit theses immortal places left the students pondering… and made them more sensitive towards their peers, their teachers, and further towards them.
